Casa Cuitlateca
Ranked #28 of 78 Hotels in Zihuatanejo
Reviewed August 5, 2012

After reading through all the reviews on Trip Advisor we booked Casa Cuitlateca, and were not disappointed. We were blown away by the service, the views and the hotel itself. The video on the website is not doctored, and while it does a good job of showing the hotel, it still under represents the the property. We spent Thanksgiving week 2011 here, and got to see the town awaken from the off season slumber to a vibrant town by the end of the week. Many businesses are closed until late November.

We stayed in room Oaxaca, the top room with great views and more than enough room to spread out for week. We have booked this room again for Thanksgiving week 2012. My wife and I have found that this is truly one of the only hotels we can completely relax in, and not worry about a thing. If we want to eat in, the food is good, and the service excellent. If we want to eat out we can take a short walk to several good restaurants. We would not leave the hotel for breakfast though. It is made to order and quite good.

A couple of places that stand out are Lety's for coconut shrimp and Kau Kan for Thanksgiving dinner. A special shout out for Franco, at Otilias, on Las Gatas beach, over 20 years of making days fun at the beach. Always good to see him when we get to Zih. Our favorite activity is daily massages on the beach $25-35 per hour. Both major beaches are only a few minutes walk away.

My husband and I absolutely loved Casa Cuitlateca. This boutique hotel had everything we needed: Food, drinks, and wonderful service. We refused to leave the hotel the first three days of our trip because Amador and the other butlers took such great care of us. We spend our days eating, drinking, and swimming in the gorgeous infiniti pool. The staff at Casa Cuitlateca took care of our every need, including picking up a couple of toothbrushes. They really made us feel at home and we still laugh about "the fishes hacienda" (our inside joke with Amador).
We highly recommend Liliana's chicken enchilada's and Alfredo's Coco Loco.

You will love every minute at Casa Cuitlateca.

We miss you guys!
Love,
The Elsbys

Casa Cuitlateca is a fantastic boutique hotel. It was very inviting and warm, clean and well maintained. The decor and lighting is spot-on and tasteful - not overdone or tacky. The food was excellent - I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas, which, quite literally, melt in your mouth. The sail fish tasted like it had been caught that same day and was tasty both grilled and fried. Breakfast was also fantastic. It's included with your stay and you can order anything from corn flakes and coffee to a full-on omelet with fresh tortillas. When we arrived (we stayed in the Oaxaca room) there was a plate of whole fresh fruit waiting for us along with bottles of cold water in the mini fridge. The views from our balcony, the sun deck, the bar and, of course, the amazing, earthy infinity pool, are impeccable at all times of the day. I have to say, though, that the highlight of our stay was getting to meet Amador. Don't get me wrong, every member of the staff is awesome - very friendly and accommodating; yet, we felt a particular connection to Amador right away and enjoyed chatting with and getting to know him as a person. Spending our time in Zihuatanejo at Casa Cuitlateca made for one of the best trips I've ever taken, and I really hope we can return next year!

I read the wonderful reviews before I went and I was not disappointed one bit. The staff was amazing, the food was excellent, the hotel was beautiful, and we had so much fun. It was hard to leave and say goodbye to everyone. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I definitely want to come back as soon as possible.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Guerrero, room number 1. It was perfect, we had a nice bathroom and our own balcony...

Can't say enough about the great time we had at Cuitlateca. A ten minute walk to the main beach or town but it was difficult to tear oneself away from the pool deck and ever ready freshly made marguaritas. Clean, well appointed rooms, good food and attentive staff make this a definite one to go back to.

Room Tip: Upper rooms are cooler and have fabulous views.

Beautiful views, attentive and friendly staff, excellent food and quiet location make this a great, romantic getaway. Bring lots of sunscreen because you're not going to want to get out of the infinity pool with its sweeping views of Zihuatenajo Bay. We really enjoyed our stay and intend to make this a regular destination. Even the resident fish are friendly -- especially when you feed them!

Room Tip: All the rooms have great views and king beds...plus good showers and free wifi. What else could you...

First time here, we will make this one of our favorite "come back to" spots for years to come. Found the staff to be the best, willing to go above and beyond to make your stay one to remember.
Rooms and grounds clean and spotless; food excellent and drinks made to perfection. Will be back as soon as I can convince the boss I need another vacation.

Room Tip: Only 5 rooms to choose from, and anyone of them is execellent, all look out upon the bay. A great i...
