Villa Mexicana is a small hotel in a great location on Playa Ropa..the staff is great, very accommodating , the rooms are simple, but well maintained ... The pools are small but clean... And the massages are excellent ...

Room Tip: Pool side rooms have lots of traffic walking by all day.. 2nd floor is better in my opinion..

It's only negative is the hard mattress....a small place, motel like...one level, right on the beach and right next to a lovely infinity pool. My vacation location of choice, hands down. Would skip all the fancy resorts for this place. Great staff, restaurant very close and the best cheesy nachos by far. Highly recommend!!

Room Tip: Nothing fancy...no spa, although there are very reasonably priced massages on the premise. No fitness room....this is a 'ma & pa' place, very quiet, absolutely lovely.

Our fourth visit and the hotel is as wonderful as always. I sure sign of a very good hotel is the staff, and this hotel is able to maintain the same wonder staff year after year. We always get a Welcome Home", as soon as we arrive. The minute you arrive you know you made the right choice of hotels. The grounds, from the check in, to your room and to the beach are constantly manicured.
The arrival at the front desk is a pleasant and warm experience and where you will receive your keys, beach towels and TV remote (if you really want one). There are beach view and garden view rooms, but the rooms are all the same and very comfortable. Either way you are steps from Playa La Ropa the best beach in the area.
WiFi is included at no additional charge and the signal is pretty good.
Three different pools, an infinity pool large enough for many people, a medium size pool for the taller children and another medium size pool where the smaller children can stand up and enjoy the warm water.
The ocean and beach are clean and warm. The waves are just big enough to enjoy. Be sure to visit the restaurant as the menu is not a tourist trap menu, instead the very good meals are very reasonably priced. Happy hour runs from 5:00 PM through to 7:00 PM daily with two for one drinks, served to you right on the beach.
Any staff member in contact with the public is fluent in American and Spanish languages. If you drove here, the parking lot is directly across the street. If you arrived by taxi, you will be delivered right to the front desk area, help is available to bring items to your room.
All in all you will be very pleased with your stay here and will return.

Villa Mexicana offers a great experience for people who enjoy a quiet beach hotel. We found most of the guests friendly, and all of the staff outstanding. This year - and last year - we found part of our stay was spoiled somewhat by a group of extended family (last year) and friends (this year). Some people are better of going to Ixtapa, and booking into an all-inclusive, where they can yell back and forth, and party all the time.
Villa Mexicana is small enough that when those types of people show up, and show no respect for the other guests who prefer a more peaceful experience, they can ruin some of the precious holiday time for the rest of us
.
By all means, if you want to enjoy a great beach experience, come to the Villa Mexicana.

If you want to have a noisy family reunion, or just have drunken, noisy parties, go somewhere else!

Room Tip: Beach view rooms cost an extra $20. Most of the non-beach front rooms are quieter.

Just got back from Mexico, it was our second visit to Villa Mexicana Hotel, we love the quaintness of this hotel the staff are all excellent, if you ever have a problem they are there to help out. We find the rooms are very clean, the restaurant food is great especially their Bacon wrapped shrimp.
We would recommend this Hotel to anyone.
