Take the road to Barra Potosi, go to the fisher village located nearly below the green mountain andthen take themost nothern restaurant of the village. You will have a free look over the bay and the seafood is delicous. do not go near to the river, the mosquitos will eat you in the evening

Long sandy beach, with very few tourists. We saw two pods of dolphins just beyond the surf. Lots of wildlife. Excellent location for horseback riding.

Accessible by taxi or local transportation

It is very nice and you will be alone on the beach, you really have 2 hour of walking on the beach. The waves are similars to Ixtapas..

Stayed in Zihua for a week and the second to last day I decided to see if there were any other local beaches to check out as I had my fill of the three major ones inside the bay. I read up on Playa Larga and at first I was tentative about going as a cab fare was 36 US. Fortunately I found out you could walk into town and catch a small mini bus every few minutes that would drop you off at the road that goes down to the beach. From there you can take a short ride in the back of a small truck with bench seat to the beach. Total for both rides was 13 Peso's! The beach itself has some of the nicest waves that curl in at 6 or 7 feet in an almost perfect crest. If you go for a walk good luck trying to get from one side of the beach to the other its a huge area to cover! We walked for 1 1/2 hours and didn't come close. A few good places to eat on the beach but far less amenities than the beaches inside the bay. That said my girl friend and I found a small spa where they had beds to lounge on and a pool, a bartender who made a mean Margarita and some decent fish taco's so we were set. If you looking for a more rugged beach that is less traveled you should make it a point to stop here.
