This was our 3rd or 4th visit to Bandido's through the past couple years. We order various things but one of us always orders the molcajete...available with chicken, fish, beef or shrimp. At under 20 bucks, this is an excellent dish. Comes in a large stone bowl and is packed with various veggies, cilantro, a mildly zesty tomatoey sauce, cheese...it is definitely worth a visit. When in Zih, we try to eat at the locals places that serve good food for under $10, but this place is always worth the money for that amazing dish alone. Also, someone will come to your table and make salsa right there using a good old mortar/pestle dish. A nice touch for sure.

our family had the beef molejeta which was very tasty and rich in flavor, we also had the chicken fajita and the pork ribs. everything was pretty tasty and the entire meal came to 800 pesos for the 3 of us. that is including a 15% tip as suggested.
there was a live band that started at 10pm and dancing was welcomed.

We were recommended to eat at Bandido’s by a staff member at our hotel and he called it a “Sports Bar”. They did have sports on one of the two times we ate there and they had music videos the other time. This is an open air restaurant in downtown Zihua. The service is very good and the food was excellent. We were fairly impressed with both our dinners. The table side made salsa is great and they specialize in El Mocajete dishes which happen to have huge portions. We highly recommend Bandido’s for dinner if you’re looking for a place in downtown Zihua.
