We were invited to join a couple for dinner at Trio. Our dinner partner was a serious wine and "foodie."
We arrived just minutes before our reservation and were met and seated quickly. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive as well as knowledgeable of both wine and dinner menus. Our appetizers were served just after our wine was poured. The calamari was delicious and the shrimp appetizer was spicy but not overpowering.
The waiter kept our wine glasses topped off and cleared our appetizer plates without interrupting our friendly conversation at the table. For my main course I tried the snapper, and I must say it was cooked to perfection! Our dining partner enjoyed a well-cooked duck entree.
While this restaurant isn't large, it does have very nice seating and the mood is light and lively. We enjoyed live music from someone playing the sax.
For our dessert we split an apple tart with homemade ice cream and a creme brulee. The brulee was not achieved with a kitchen torch and for that I was pleased as I believe that technique leaves a less than favorable appearance and taste.
The food was delicious, the restauant was romantic and the service and wines were excellent!
