In the evening they put the tables right out on the beach. The sunset was spectacular, and once it's dark the view of the lighted pier is amazing. The food was quite good, though the portions were smallish compared to other places. They're more focused on the presentation, which is lovely. A great place for a special occasion. Live music most nights.

We just returned from a 12 day stay in Puerto Vallarta, and ate five of our meals at La Palapa. It's safe to say we love this restaurant.

The views are, of course, second to none but what really makes the dining experience at La Palapa so great is the incredible service. Every server is attentive, but not over the top. They attend to your every need and are a total dream. On our last visit, our server was kind enough to send out champagne as a farewell!

Meals are, for the most part, reasonably priced. Sunday brunch (2 entrees, 2 coffees, 2 beers, 2 mango margaritas) ran us about $40USD before gratuity and an admittedly excessive lunch on our last day (2 entrees, 6 glasses of wine, dessert) was about $80USD.

Their wine line is well stocked, the menu and food are on point and the views are unbeatable. I cannot recommend La Palapa enough!

If you are visiting Puerto Vallarta -this is a must stop for -especially dinner at dusk and after dark. Great beachside location, excellent service and every course is amazing - a party in your mouth! It is not terribly expensive and you get great value. You will not be disappointed.

We were walking the romantic district on the beach and were not sure were to go. We decided to have a drink at La Palapa and then head out for dinner. We were seated on the beach so we all took off our shoes to run the sand through our toes. When that happened and the drinks arrived, we knew we were not leaving, they had us. So glad that we stayed. The sunset view was amazing. The food was spectacular, the tuna tartar was exceptional and the red snapper was just as delicious. I would recommend it for a perfect night with live music, it doesn't get much better.

We at at La Palapa during our stay in Puerto Vallarta. Based on the positive reviews here I was really excited to go there. The view and experience did not disappoint! We sat at one of the tables right on the beach and had a spectacular view of the sunset. After the sun set they lit all of the torches around the area and it was so peaceful when coupled with the sound of the waves. I was in town for a girl's trip but I'll definitely take my significant other there one day because it's super romantic :)

Sadly I cannot rave about the food as much as I could the view. We opted for the three course option and the food was good, but not great. I had the stuffed pork loin which was very tasty, but the appetizer and dessert were just okay. The bread basket they bought out was so yummy because they were fresh out of the oven. The next basket we received was too cold, like it had been sitting out for some time. That was a bit of a downer because the first basket was so great. Maybe it just meant we didn't need anymore!

Lastly, the service was outstanding! Our waiter was so attentive the entire evening. He even made sure we didn't miss the sunset by relocating the umbrella that had been blocking the sunlight.

The setting and view will keep me coming back from years to come!
