We thoroughly enjoyed Casa Madina. It's a great home in a real Mexican neighborhood in the Old Town of Puerto Vallarta. The home is about 8 blocks from the waterfront. There's a steep hill for the last couple blocks, so be aware of that. It's a few blocks away from the tourist areas. There's a street full of delicious restaurants about 3 blocks from the Casa. There are also a large number of taco stands where locals eat, which we found both more fun and at least as delicious as the tourist-oriented restaurants.
Inside, there's AC for the public spaces (we kept our bedroom doors open at night to keep them cool), a spacious kitchen, and a comfy public area. Upstairs there's a rooftop pool to dip into, a deck where you can sun yourself, and a laundry facility.
Overall, we loved staying here and getting a feel for the real PV.
