We were here 18 months and thoroughly enjoyed it and our party of six felt the same this time. This place is extremely good value, has attentive service and some of the dishes are especially noteworthy, especially the molcateje azteca.

What a great restaurant which serves awesome seafood and Mexican dishes. The portions are huge! menu extensive so 1 visit not enough. All foods were prepared as you finished each dish which makes for very fresh and delightful dining. Staff attentive and knowledgeable. Prices were very reasonable(low) and be prepared for delicious leftovers!

Recommended by a friend during the off season, El Brujo was quiet the night we visited. Our waiter Edgar was polite, friendly and fast with service. After receiving our icy cervezas and cocktails, we enjoyed fresh chips and a delicious Salsa Méxicana while ordering. The Camarones el Diablo, plump shrimp in a savory red sauce, were served with rice and a side salad. The tostada ceviche (pulpo) and shrimp-stuffed baked potato with cheese (served as a meal) were both excellent: fresh pulpo tangy with lime and cilantro, and a large golden potato stuffed with a shrimp-carrot-pepper mix. Delicious! Finally, an order of shrimp cooked in a savory broth prepared in a foil packet ("camp style") was steamy and flavorful. Dinner was served with heavenly homemade garlic bread. Although we did not leave room for dessert of elote ice cream, we left El Brujo happy. This place is definitely worth the walk off the touristy path.

We were referred to this restaurant by the owner of the hotel where we stayed. The complimentary chips and salsa were excellent, the beer was cold but must admit it went down hill from there. The fish my husband had was very salty and I had the nachos and they were unimpressive. After reading the other reviews I'd like think the chef was having a bad night but it was truly disappointing... Don't know about other restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, we didn't like the city that well and left the next day, but we had better Mexican food at road side stands than at this restaurant.
