I've noticed that the quality of nightlife in PV has declined over the past few year probably due to the economy and decreased number of tourists coming to Mexico. That's why it was really a treat to find and experience entertainment at The Palm on my trip to PV last week. The place itself is not much to look at (the entrance is basically a sliding glass door), but the cabaret style layout inside is comfortable and conducive for enjoying the live entertainment.
I saw two shows at the Palm last week; Leslie Jordan's "Stories I Can't Tell Mama" (hilarious) and then Joanna's Funhouse (mildly entertaining drag performer but definitely worth the $15 US). Leslie Jordan's show was sold out, but the onsite manager was able to get our small group of three in at a reduced rate. Nice!
During the show, drinks were served efficiently by staff and were pretty good. And you really can't beat the prices.
I definitely recommend spending an evening at The Palm on your next trip to Puerto Vallarta.
