My wife and I had an incredible time with this tour. We did the 3 hour horse ride. The horse ride was along a river and in the jungle. It was crazy beautiful. We stopped at a impressive waterfall. When we got back to the ranch we didn't know that they were going to teach us how to make homemade tortillas and salsa. Then they served us a delicious lunch! Wow, when do you ever get more than you expected? Here!

Best known for its horseback rides, the rancho is also a nice place to just go have lunch on the cliff above the river. The horseback trail is also used by hikers and leads to a pretty waterfall with a very scenic swimming hole at its base. The hike is not difficult although it has some ups and downs and can normally be completed in less than an hour each way. What makes the hike unique is the half dozen or more suspension bridges as you near the falls. If you take the local blue and white Las Palmas bus and get off just as the bus turns into Las Palmas (19 miles from PV), and walk another half-mile up the road you'll see the sign for Rancho Capomo. The dirt and gravel road to the Rancho and the restaurant is about 1 mile. Or you can just sign up for one of the Rancho's tours and they will pick you up in PV and return you after the tour.

We visited Rancho Capomo with a total group of 10. We had the ranch to ourselves while we were there in early June. Sergio picked us up in his van for the ride from south of Puero Vallarta. During the trip, you leave the city and see more of the rural area. I was unsure of what to expect and thought it would be more of a jungle-type feel. Once we arrived, we could feel the family ranch vibe and everyone was very welcoming.

The trip started with a horseback ride. This was fun and the guides were laidback and friendly. Enjoyed riding through the river and seeing the waterfall. When we got back to the ranch, we prepared for the zipline. Having not done the ziplining before, I have no comparison. However, this was so much fun. Again, the guys were laidback and made the experience great. Incredible views and the length of the lines varied. Highly recommend trying this out. The next segment was the ATV riding. You start out through a small town. The locals wave and smile, even though we were loud travelling through their streets. There were more stream crossings and the guides weren't upset when we zoomed past our friends to splash them. More fun times.

After we returned from the ATV ride, we sat down for lunch. This was very good and accompanied by a Tequila shot. At first, I thought the price was high, but we did so much and had a great time - on top of having a great meal. This was a highlight of my Puerto Vallarta trip.

The Rancho Capomo was a great experience and I'd love to go back again!

What a delightful day! Sergio and his uncle picked our group up just outside Neuva Vallarta and we headed off to the town of las Palmas. All along the way Sergio kept up an interesting and entertaining dialogue. We stopped in the town to see the church and visit a showmaker. His sandals were nive and a great price - $20 a pair. He even made a pair in a needed size for me while we visited the ranch and we stopped and picked them up on the way back. What a treat!
Three of us did the zip lines (ages 67,61 and 55). It wasn't for the faint of heart, but we had ziplined before and appreciated the fact that there were only three of us and a guide. Two of our group took the horseback ride to the waterfall and reported that was enjoyable as well.Lunch was served on our return and everything was delicious - especially the margueritas! I would highly recommend a visit to Rancho Campono. The ranch is family owned by Juan and his wife, Adrianna. Other relatives work on the staff, Punchiano, his wife, Linda, and our delightful guide whose name can't be recalled.
This day spent off the beaten track is a great value!

The trail was nice thru the jungle and creek. We hiked the a large waterfall and had lunch when we returned to the ranch. Everything was homemade.
