“Live performances on the Malecon at Los Arcos. Usually at night.”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

From Classical, Rock, Folkloric, International... Puerto Vallarta goes out of its way to bring quality art and performances to this amphitheater located directly on the beach. Lots of locals and tourist, a nice happy blend of people enjoying a wide range of entertainment under the stars (usually around 8:00 pm). Located near the Cathedral so you can experience some of the key classic sites of Puerto Vallarta all together. Recommend walking down the Malecon and checking out the music often.

“Murky”
Reviewed June 11, 2012

Make sure of visibility conditions before bothering with Los Arcos. I couldn't see more than a couple feet in front or below. Without bread to attract fish directly to me, I wouldn't have seen anything. It was a fun 5 minutes in the water I suppose...

“Wonderful Snokel”
Reviewed May 27, 2012

Go from the beach at Mismaloya you can hire a ponga boat for 50 usd/hour and get up closer to Los Arcos. If you go via tours, you'll get way too many other people, and the tours don't take you as close as the villagers. Fish are beautiful and plenty without tours. When your boat comes back, there plenty of family beach side grills, with great fresh catch meals for a very reasonable price. Can get there by bus just walk down main road to beach, and a boat person will greet you.

“Fun trip, but visibility was not great”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

Snorkeling at Los Arcos was a fun trip, one I am glad we took, but probably not something I will do again. We took a boat from Mismaloya, through Mismaloya Divers. They were great and did a very good job. Smaller boat (with 4-8 people), so it was a little more intimate, and our driver was able to take us through the arches. But the water was pretty choppy around Los Arcos, which means the water was kind of murky and it was hard to see anything further than a few feet away. That said, when our driver dropped some bread in the water, a lot of fish did come close, so that was fun.

So all in all, I think snorkeling at Los Arcos is a must-do, but try to go when the water is a little less turbulent and go with a smaller outfit (like Mismaloya Divers), and it should be a fun trip.

“Boat ride to Los Arcos”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

Boat ride is very entertaining by the boat crew. Snorkeling is fun, but the water is not crystal clear. Lunch on a private beach is delicious and reminds you of the beer commercial.
