“Incredible week!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2010

Hola!!
Hubby and I just returned from Dreams PV where we had another wonderful holiday. Lovely resort, not too fancy but clean, quaint and in a perfect spot on the ocean. The Sierra Madre mountains are a beautiful backdrop and Banderas Bay has picturesque sunsets every evening. The week was uneventful and we were just content to relax and veg out on our beach loungers. The weather all week was perfect. Cool in the evenings and in the mornings until the sun comes over the mountains but sunny and hot during the day.
We were in the preferred tower on the second floor. Lovely well appointed rooms with a gorgeous bathroom and a very comfy bed. I had requested a room on a higher floor in our category in a room without a jacuzzi which goes as high as the fifth floor but none were available. No problem though as all rooms have amazing views no matter how high or rather how low you are. We could open our drapes in the morning and from our bed see the waves crashing on the shore through the palm fronds. Incredible. Concha our maid was very attentive all week keeping out room clean and our mini fridge was well stocked all week with water. Turn down service was a nice touch. The only thing that I would have liked was a CD player but then again if you have your balcony door open you would not be able to hear it very well over the sound of the waves.
The waves, huge, roaring, sand-sucking, beautiful, kept me awake the first night but then lulled me to sleep every night after. It was a little too rough to swim in the ocean and only on our last day did they seem a little calmer. However, the water was warm and the sand is nicely maintained. Shell seekers might find a few small shells in front of Oceana where I found a couple of nice ones.
If you are in the preferred tower you have Internet access in the lobby on their computers for free ( 15 minute limit and there are only two) and to call home you can purchase a phone card in the gift shop for 100 pesos ( gives you 20 minutes of talk time) and use the phones by the travel representatives desks ( Telmex) and call home.
Food and drinks were delicious. Lots of places to eat and as usual, attentive friendly service everywhere. A special mention for Christopher at the World Cafe at breakfast, Fernando on the beach serving me my Mango Margaritas, Jose Luis and Cirillo (sp) at Oceana and Seaside Grill, Alma, Marilyn and Angeles, Ramon and Martin in Portofino, Alehandro at the pool bar. Carlos in entertainment. Amazing folks!!
We went into town a couple of times to sight see, shop and eat. Once to the Cheeky Monkey and to the Vista Grill. The Cheeky Monkey is a must do if you go to town and the Vista Grill is worth the trip as well. ( See my reviews ) The town center has a wonderful old catholic church which we visited and it is so beautiful inside. The shops along the streets off the Malecon have sales folks that are not as pesky and pushy and the prices are better. I got three shell necklaces for 120 pesos and a T Shirt for 150 pesos. Very cheap. Taxis are everywhere and are an economical mode of transportation. We did the Rhythms of the Night tour and I was so sea sick. Don't do this if you are prone to getting sick in a boat because it was brutal!! Even after I took Gravol well before. Otherwise, hubby enjoyed the food and the show.
I have one negative comment. What this place is lacking is a nice pool that you can swim in. Even though we are beach people it is nice to have a refreshing pool to swim in late afternoon for a few laps. And I don't think children should be allowed to go to the swim up bar and at that time of day especially as there are a lot of loud mouthed hammered adults around. Not a good thing.
All in all we had a nice week and were glad to visit this side of Mexico and it is very different from the Mayan Riviera and Cancun but the not so in the service and the friendliness and hospitality of the Mexican people. I am not sure if we would return although I would highly recommend Dreams Resort and Spa for sure.
Happy travels everybody.

My wife I just returned from a week at Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa. What they say is true, "Dreams Do Come True." What a fabulous resort and vacation. We found this resort on the Internet and read reviews about it. As you might expect, we were skeptical that any place could be as nice as the reviews suggested. And since it was our first trip to Puerto Vallarta, we had no way of knowing anything different. But the reviews were very accurate. The cleanliness of the resort was incredible. The service and food was also first rate. The wait staff was constantly on top of our service needs from refilling drink glasses, offering to assist, welcoming us, or providing entertainment. We especially appreciated Paulina in the Signature Shop. She really went out of her way to make DREAMS COME TRUE. She was a true delight. So from Paulina in the Signature Shop to Luis who cared for our luggage to Javier ("have-a-beer") at the front desk to Flor in housekeeping, each Dreams staff member was helpful, cheerful, and acommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will recommend it to others. People are in great hands when they stay at Dreams Resort and Spa.

My partner and I had a beautiful wedding week at Dreams Puerto Vallarta. We had about fourty people, ranging from 6 months to 84 years old. Everyone had a great time with plenty of things to do. Lovely resort! The beach was private but still had the vendors on the beach so we could buy things.
The wedding coordinator, Rebeca was awesome and answered many questions via email leading up to the wedding. A wonderful day and wedding on the beach.
The spa was a bit expensive but they did an awesome job of my hair for the wedding!Food was awesome! No reservations required and lots of options to choose from right at the resort. If you want to be in a gorgeous room, upgrade to the Preferred Tower!! The regular Dreams Tower rooms are great too, they have more of a Mexican feel.
Puerto Vallarta is a wonderful town and the weather is so predictably perfect!

We just arrived home from Dreams 2 days ago and I wish we were back there again. First the location of this resort is perfect, close to town and the Marina, yet it is secluded. I felt very safe here. We had our kids with us who are 17, 15 and 11. They could walk around anywhere by themselves. There was always something to do from being at the beach, hanging at the pool, or doing one of the various activities. A special shout out to Carlos, best Jack Sparrow I've ever seen! Thanks for letting us get to know you! Erick the Bell Hop was also fabulous, a huge help when we were leaving. And I really have to mention our maid Lorena, she went all the way for us. Our rooms were spotless always. We had 2 rooms on 2 differant floors, not ideal but how much time do you spend in your room? We just rolled with it and it was fine. The rooms were beautiful, we were in the older tower and they were still very nice. The beds were awesome, best I've ever slept on in a hotel by far. The food was delicious! We have stayed at other AI before and this one wins hands down! They have spoiled us forever! There is something for everyone. Our youngest is not the most adventurous eater but he tried lots of new things last week, some he liked, others not so much, so he would just find something else to eat, no worries! If you decided to visit here you will not be disappointed and please bring some tipping money. These are hard working people! Show your appreciation for all that they do to make your stay perfect. Where else can you go to check into a hotel and they give you a cool cloth to wipe your hands and a glass of champagne before you even set your purse down? I think I was hooked from that very minute. The evening entertainment was also great, Fire shows, mariachis, pirate night, ect. Also entertaining for the kids, they loved everyshow, even the movies on the beach were a hit! Sorry but here in MN we just don't get to do that! Every experience was new and fun.

We stayed at Dreams for 1 week starting Jan 25, and loved every minute. Angeles checked us in with a smile, and we were installed in our room 1856 (in the new tower) in minutes. Our room had a jacuzzi on the balcony and great view. We spent a lot of time there. Concha kept our room spotless. The restaurants were all great, the seaside grill probably our favourite. Watching the sunset while enjoying a great steak-does it get better than this? The world cafe buffet had some many choices-everything delicious and the best salsa we've ever had. Try to sit in Chistian's section, he will treat you like a king and always has a smile and a joke. The beach service for drinks couldn't be better, Fernando made sure of that, and always with a smile.
The ocean was quite rough during our stay, fun to watch the big waves but not great if you like to swim around in it. We met a lot of nice people from various parts of the USA (Hi Deanna and Glenn), many of whom have been coming here for years, and it's easy to see why.

Don't hesitate to book here, all of the employees, the food and drinks, the location... it's all good!
