“Great Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

Just came back yesterday. I was worried as people mentioned about the age of the hotel. All had turned to positive when I was there. Yes the hotel is dated and swimming pool is not big. However, the atmosphere was excellent and staffs are of the highest grade. I lost my mobile during the trip and the people there went out all the way to help and was able to link me with the driver of the taxi. Even though it was not in the taxi, I can say the service is AAA+. The release of sea turtle was a great education for my daughter and she enjoyed every minutes of it. The location is private and the elevates the cost of transportation though. I highly recommend the food at the Oceana café. It was slow to come out comparing to the Seaside Café but well worth it. The entertainment was very good too. We utilize the option to visit the other Dreams property in PV on one day and it was also a day well spent. Will definitely come back to one of the Dreams property the next time I go for all-inclusive vacation. Overall, my family enjoyed the stay at Dreams PV and that is what it means most.

After Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas caught fire, my family's vacation went up in smoke. Sue at Mill Avenue Travel in Tempe found us another cruise with Norwegian and Dreams as a second option. We chose Dreams in Puerto Vallarta and spent ten wonderful days there with my husband and adult children. I was worried the the liquor would be second-class since it was included. It wasn't (Bombay and Tanqueray). The beer selection was limited but the available brands were great. The food was excellent (except for the Asian buffet) and the restaurants delightful and excellent. We didn't stay in the up-graded hotel, Preferred Club, and thought the extra cost wouldn't be worth it. Not a lot of time spent in the rooms. Friends of mine are vacationing there now based on our recommendation. Know they'll love it!

We traveled as a couple earlier this month and had a great time. We upgraded to the preferred tower and stayed in room 1658 with a private jacuzzi and it was AMAZING- but heard from other hotel guests that the regular tower was totally fine. The staff was amazing, so friendly and welcoming.

I could see how the pools could get crowded during the busy season and that would have drastically changed how much we enjoyed our stay. However, since we were there during the slow time the pool was perfect and we didn't usually have to fight for chairs.

The food was OK. Nothing special but nothing horrible. Seaside Grill was our favorite because Oceana wasn't open the whole time we were there! Drinks were great, not watered down. There is a little coffee place in the morning that has good pastries.

We used Vallarta Adventures to swim with dolphins and sea lions and would recommend that as well.

Most importantly the staff at Dreams made our stay great. Everyone was so genuinely nice and accommodating. We would definitely return for another romantic getaway during their low season!

We spend 4 nights at the Dreams Resort & Spa for a friend's destination wedding. We had a high floor room with balcony and a beautiful view of the water. All of the rooms at the resort had an ocean view, which is a plus. The rooms were nice and spacious (we stayed in the older tower) and the bed was REALLY comfortable. I'm very picky about beds and don't say that very often, but we got 4 very good nights of sleep there. We ate at three of the restaurants and got massages at the spa. The food overall was decent for being all inclusive, not spectacular (although the Mexican restaurant was very good). Buffets were sub-par to average depending on if you went for breakfast or lunch. Stick to the restaurants. Drinks were very good at the bars, especially the Miami Vice (strawberry daquiri/pina colada combo). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, although if its your first time there, beware of the sales pitch when you first enter and sit down with the concierge. Its not a timeshare, but a loyalty program. There was a promotion for good money towards the massage and that is the only reason we sat through the 90 minute sales pitch, although we had one of the better not so sales-y salesman. They had some entertainment which was okay - there was a comedian/magician, who is more geared towards the kids. The fire show was pretty interesting and definitely recommend it. The beach scene was nice, although we hung out at the adults infinity pool most of the time, as it was quieter with a bar near by. One negative is that it gets very hot at the resort during the summer and there isn't really any "AC" space for common areas as its all outdoors. Overall, if you are into beach vacations and all inclusive type resorts, this is a pretty nice resort and I would recommend it.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a quieter getaway, ask for the higher floors if you are in the older tower...

We were recently married at Dreams Puerto Vallarta, my husband and I, as well as our guests had the time of our lives! Our wedding coordinator, Fatima Rueda was amazing to work with and made the entire process of planning a destination wedding easy and fun! The entire staff is wonderful and extremely accommodating, The restaurants are all delicious, the views spectacular. We stayed in the Preferred Tower in the Preferred Suites and loved it. Our guests were spread out in the Preferred Tower as well as the original tower and all were great. We have been talking about our trip since we got home and I STRONGLY recommend Dreams Puerto Vallarta to everyone who asks! The wedding was as smooth as can be (both the reception and ceremony were held on the beach), and the remainder of our trip was one we will remember forever. We can't wait to return already!

Room Tip: If you are looking for something more modern and new, choose the Preferred Tower.

Wholehearted high rating for the Dreams Resort. While the hotel room itself was not the most contemporary on the planet, the setting is unparalleled, the Entertainment Staff are friendly, quirky, and fun (shout out to Fernando, Tennis Pro, Valentinno, Christian in particular). Our week FLEW by, with a plethora of things to do, including a once in a lifetime release of baby turtles on the beach. Thank you, again, for everything!

I have been to Puerto Vallarta three times, stayed at a 3 star the first time (canto del sol) stayed at Now Amber the last time (more of a real 5star) and stayed at Dreams in Puerto Vallarta this time. Needless to say, I chose this resort based in the fact that it ranked #3 for PV resorts on trip advisor. Usually the reviews are very accurate. This time I was beyond disappointed. The resort itself is old, decorated more or less like a 3 star. We initially ended up in the older side and it was dismal. We paid for an upgrade to the preferred towers which made it a 3.5 star at best. The staff were nice but Ive had better services at the other resorts. The food was good, ill give it that much. The beach was quite dirty, water was brown. It is far frim the airport which is fine, but its close to the boadwalk. I would say be prepared to pay for a cab if you want to go anywhere.
All in all, I would say that if u are loiking to stay at a 5 star resort, go to now amber or secrets, its definitely worth the extra 400 or 600. We ended up paying that difference anyway to switch. If u wanna stay in a more budget friendly place you may as welk save your money and stay at another resort. Dreams is not worth the money and may I add that you should tip. Though they say its an all inclusive, they still expect it. Between housekeeping, dining and snacks, it was an extra 20 to 25 a day. We forgot to tip once at a quick brekky where we were there for not even 10 mins and we got dirty looks.

I would recommend this resort if you dont mind paying for a lexus and driving a used kia. Theres nothing wrong with the kias, its just not great if you are paying for luxury
