Ki Spa is a very chic spa located inside the new Hilton of Puerto Vallarta where we stayed this last January '13; normally we eschew larger hotels but it appealed to us from the pool and lobby photos and we weren't disappointed, great beach and a real oasis.
The oasis inside of the oasis though, was this spa, this Ki Spa, that we ignored when we checked in but investigated the next day. Wow. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, professional but warm( not a fan of 'cold' service). I cannot remember what we signed up for, a romantic couples package of some kind that left us totally blissed out.
We waited in the basic but comfortable sitting room, and were served a delicious fruit tea with whole fruit that was dried but re hydrated itself so by the end you could eat it( could compliment a ready dessert at home, was awesome), then escorted to one of the element names massage rooms for one of the hands down best massage I have ever had, and we have frequented several spas in our travels. It started with really nice foot bath that I am not such a fan of, more because I don't like my feet, but even I could admit it was pretty great.
After the massage we were treated to a warm salt pool soak they call a flotarium, with good reason; more salt than the ocean, it takes very little breath to stay afloat, resulting in a surreal and tranquil experience, easily the most relaxed we were over our entire vacation. Oh yeah, since it was the package my wife signed us up for, we enjoyed this whilst sipping champagne and having some fine chocolates.
There is no connection to the outside world here, bittersweet being in a tropical beach setting, but so worth disconnecting from all the trappings of the hotel and touts and the pressure to do and experience; here we just were, and ended up returning 2 days later for more!
Suggested: try the hot stones massage, and get that couples ultimate package( can't remember what it's called, but the folks at the reception of the spa are great and can help you, without 'selling' you), it was so worth it, treated like royalty without feeling like it was over the top. True luxury, worth every penny( or peso). Great Jacuzzis available to use too, and the menu was quite extensive, tons of different treatment types.
They said they welcome guests from outside Hilton, since we don't know if we will stay there again, it was great but nice to explore. That means no matter what we can visit Ki Spa when we come back, which won't be too soon! Gracias!
