This is a nice place for the money it was clean and the grounds are very pretty. The buffet was good lots of choice what you want to eat. Just a short bus ride to downtown and grocry store is just next store. The Staff are friendly and keep the grounds spot less . Loved the snack bar and the staff there not a far walk to the beach more quiet than the main pool water to many kids for my liking . The pool above the dining room is nice and quiet not that big and short walk to the bar below it . The old building that isn't finish should go wrecks the view from the pools looks like it's been there for years and was never finished. We had a balcony which was nice to sit out on at night or watch the sunset. Would go back in a minute if we could get the same price as last year a lot higher ? So back to Cancun this March.

Our room was comfortable. We enjoyed the food. outside snacks were great The beach and water was near to enjoy. Sightseeing on the bus was an adventure.
We could also go for walks to view interesting things about Puerto Vallarta.
We enjoyed seeing a large rubber tree.

Spent a week there in Jan 2017 with family (kids 11 and 6).

Pros:
- Very clean

- Friendly service

- Central location (15-min walk to downtown)

- On the beach

- Low all-inclusive price

Cons:
- Food is just average and only two restaurants are available (all-you-can-eat and a-la-carte that works evenings only)

- Basic accommodation

- Entertainment is lacking (mostly in Spanish to cater to local majority visitors)

- Abandoned hotel nearby ruins the experience

- Kids club didn't work due to construction

- Wifi is weak and usually not working

We stayed at this hotel for a week. The price was fantastic. The food was good providing you get to the buffet early enough. Seems to be slim pickings later. Drinks were great. Service was good. Room was clean. Pool was very noisy, but we quickly located the adult only pool above the Italian Restaurant. It was small but lovely. The ocean was just ok. I prefer the Caribbean side as opposed to the pacific. Construction happening which was nice to see. Empty half built building blocking view of the ocean, but hey what can ya do.

The best two things we did was a tequila tour. We went up to the mountains to the tequila distillery. Was fantastic. We also did the Pirate cruise. We went on the night time one and it was the best night ever. Loved it.

Costa Club in Puerto Vallarta is best described as a hidden gem.The setting is beautiful. Sure the resort is old and well worn but it runs like a well oiled machine. The price is right. The food is very good. Right from the front desk staff to the ladies tiding and cleaning the rooms the entire staff are wonderful. Particular cudos to Paulo and Edgar in the dining area and to Iggy in the Italian restaurant . Real professionals. We had a wonderful stay at Costa Club thank you one and all. P.S> We even got to see a turtle lay her eggs on the beach at the resort.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a balcony away from the Stage area
