This was a great vacation myself and a friend and our two mothers went check is was great the unit was B1 74 steps down from street level but few steps to the pool which was a great pool never busy and light salt water. Having non air conditioned units was not to bad 93. degrees most days and i am an air condition junkie, knowing this in advance helps which you are told in advance. The unit we had 2 bdrm 2 bath jacuzzi tub on patio was nice. Very authentic mexican....The 2 workers in the resort were great carried bags to room and called taxis for us and recommended places to eat. We chose to taxi most places because of the hills and steps outside the unit. which being 4 of us came to $1.00 per ride per person Total $4.00. to go to town, of course the farther you go the price goes up a bit. Please do not believe ythe bad reviews on here people this is a nice resort left in a older time period, not a modern resort at all. But clean and nice. I have traveled all around the world and these accommadations were just fine. maid service goog clean towels everyother day as in most times share exchanges, did the dishes swept and dusted and changed linens. I would go back tomorrow, no tv no phone no problem had a cell and had computer with dvd's. Thanks Loma Linda for a Great Time.

Villa C3 has a fantastic view! No A/C but being on a mountain and keeping the ceiling fans running made it comfortable and even cool at night. The villa is HUGE andbeautiful! Very open, no screens/no need/no bugs. Be prepared to HIKE!! We walked down two flights to the villa, down 3 flights to the pool (which was under repair) then up two flights to the rooftop "infinity pool". It's about hip deep and maybe 10x14 feet, but it was cool and relaxing. There is a bar there, unfortunately it is not open. Front office has sketchy hours and asking them to call for a taxi is hit or miss. There are taxis at the bottom of the steep hill! Walking to town is possible, but it is a STEEP walk and a real workout, lost 5 lbs! We had a hot tub which was great, but it needed tile work. The living area seating was not comfortable and there are no lounge chairs on the beautiful patio, just a table and chairs. The villa was kept very clean. Be prepared to pay a $3 a day maid fee as you leave. We were told in a letter to pay the office staff $20 each for their services, but we did not do it because we rarely saw them and twice our called for taxi did not show up. However, when we did see them, they were friendly and informative. We were asked to allow the villa to be shown for sale and we agreed. We were awakened on our last day by construction on the overhang. Other than that it was very quiet only 5 other guests in the entire complex! Oh, there is no "convenience store" just a rack of chips and cold drinks in the office fridge.
Would I stay here again? Probably not. The view is one I'll never forget; the experience was really unique, and it is sad that such a gorgeous place is so inconvenient. I would only recommend it as good but with lots of challenges.

What an amazing view from our B1 suite overlooking the whole Bay! Never tired of the whale and dolphin sightings. Use of the private hot tub was a nice bonus.
The suite was well equipped and clean.
The staff are helpful and made our stay the vacation we anticipated.

Simply the best vacation of my life! Went in 2008 with my aunts, cousins and sister. We had such a great time that we are doing it all again very soon. We can hardly wait and hope to have even a better time than last time. The guys at front desk were amazing and took good care of us....we hope they are still working there when we arrive! We always felt safe and secure and our villas were very clean and cared for. If you are looking for a true vacation....leave the tv, hair dryers (too humid anyway!), makeup and modern ammenities and enjoy life as it was meant to be!!! Simple!!!

We have been to Puerto Vallarta many times and like to stay at Villas Loma Linda if we can. We had the opportunity to do that over New Years and really enjoyed the new pool area and were surprised at the new roof top terrace. This place is a great example of old world charm together with new amenities. Relax with a massage down on the pool deck. Very large and comfortable units. Many with hot tubs on the private terrace.

Villas Loma Linda was our base for a week of local explorations in PV and beach villages, north and south, during an unusually quiet week in Vallarta, due to a flu scare. Our bright and charming front-desk hosts Juan and Jose, quickly became our go-to guys for advice on restaurants, driving directions, local phone calls in Spanish, and general good cheer and enthuastic post-adventure tale telling. We found our 1500' ft condo, Unit C-4, had plenty of privacy for two couples, with thoughtful amenities including ceiling fans, colorful local art and wall decor, an unending supply of bottled water for our safe drinking, a spacious deck with our personal jacuzzi, umbrella-shaded table with a 180' sweeping view of gorgeous Banderas Bay, and a convenient built-in gas BBQ. The large pool was impeccably clean with plenty of chaise lounges and umbrellas. We loved being able to walk or taxi to Zona Romantic, heart of restaurant row and art galleries. Strolling along the Malecon after dinner and through the square in front of the Cathedral made us feel part of the local scene, with local families out to enjoy the cool evening breezes. Highlights: happening upon a rehearsal of high-school age flamenco dancers on the Cathedral square; seeing the iguana tree in Sayulita, an hour north of Vallarta, and visiting Las Animas and Yelapa, accessed by water taxi from Boca de Tomatlan, just south of Vallarta. Each village worth the day trip where we enjoyed snorkeling in the warm water and eating "three-minute fresh" seafood lunches! We'd do it all over again - lovely people, beautiful scenery, gentle breezes, in a town with a big heart.

I have been a member at Villas Loma Linda since 1994 and have stayed there more than 40 times, yes, 40 times. The villas were built in the 80's and they are solid as a rock, literally, with that old mexican charm. I had to write this review as the previous review that went on forever was horribly inaccurate and was not fair in it's representations of Villas Loma Linda. It was obvious that some people you just can't please.

The villas have just gone through a major facelift with much more planned for the near future. Check out their new website at www.villaslomalinda.com. The timeshare is being converted to full ownership. I actually purchased one of the units myself and so I'm on top of the changes happening. The first phase of the facelift is almost complete and phase two will start at the end of high season. The two bedroom villas are about 2000 sq ft in size with large terraces and 7 of the units have jacuzzi's on the terrace. The higher units have better views but each unit is unique in it's location. The location is on the side of the hill and there are many steps but most people just walk down into town or straight down to the beach or take a quick 5 minute, $4 taxi ride. Within the complex there are lots of stairs but I look at it as my built in stair master. I can eat all the great food in PV and never gain an ounce.

The units are in the process of being updated but it will never be the glitz and glammer of marble all over. The members and new owners love it for it's old style charm. The units are clean and well maintained. Yes once in awhile something breaks but it happens at home also. I did inquire about the comment of the previous reviewers neighbors not having hot water all week. Well, what he failed to tell you is that they were using the hot water to fill their jacuzzi instead of waiting for the heater to heat it up.

The staff at Villas Loma Linda are extremely friendly and always willing to help. I know most of the maids and they have been there since the beginning and take great pride in taking care of their guests.

So take a look at the other reviews. I personally know hundreds of the members and guests who stay here year after year and have for decades. It's not a HOTEL but it will become your home away from home. Oh, and just to be clear the members nor renters pay for daily maid service. It's all included in the nightly rental rate.

So go and experience the incredible sunsets and the warmth of the people of Puerto Vallarta. It's truly a destination you don't want to miss.
