We have come to VLL every year since 1990. It is so homey, good service, always cleaned to perfection, all the staff is great, and like last year had some problems during rains, and got moved to another unit. Sadly to say that 2014 will be our last year as timeshare owners, but will still have access if we want it.
Quiant, lots of room, private in the older part of town, but easy access to bus system, good walking to town, Malecon, or beach. Their most recent remodel of infinity pool, lower pool, and updates to some of the units, makes it even more cozy.
Their only set back is no A/C, which is okay except in the summer months. The one bedrooms are very nice, and can sleep up to 4, the 2 bedrooms are up to 6. Worth it if you want to be away from the busy hustle of downtown.

Room Tip: The best rooms are B6, C6 and top of A building. They all have great veiws of Bay, and nice breezes...

I just returned from a stay at Villas Loma Linda. Jose who checked us in was pleasant and helpful. Be prepared to pay an $80 maid service fee and $50 deposit in cash. Nearly wiped out our cash supplies on hand. The resort is a little dated Jose offered to trade our 1 bedroom for a studio with a view of the water. Nice unit but quite loud. The traffic noise goes day and night. After a while you adjust. The pool was nice but the beach more beautiful and warm. The views from the roof of this establishment are wonderful and might even include whales. Many guests own time shares here and return year after year so know each other but are friendly to strangers The bed was very comfortable.

Room Tip: The ones with the view are best but higher up probably is quieter

Staying here is like having your own vacation home in paradise. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo overlooking the ocean. The kitchen was well appointed although we didn't use it for cooking, there was also a great bbq out on the large terrace.
The hike down to the beach each morning was fine but you will probably want to take a taxi back up, it's fast and very inexpensive (20 Pesos)
My only complaint was the unheated hot tubs and the smell of sewer gases in the 2nd bathroom. We never felt the place to be un-safe and would definitely return

Room Tip: I doubt there is a room without a great view

I read all the reviews before staying at Villa Loma Linda and decided to stay there anyway with some reservations. I must say- Its Worth Staying there. We had C7 which is the top room and the views are awesome. We could lay in our bed and watch the sunset, the bay, and the thunderstorms. Yes we went in rainy season, hottest time of year and slowest tourism and I am happy to say it was worth it. It rained every day but it did not interrupt our plans, the rooms had ceiling fans and we opened the doors and there was a breeze. Overall key points- beautiful view, nice pool, great massages by Edgar who comes to the resort, friendly staff, The reviews about walking up steps etc-yes there are alot of steps but if you are on the side of a cliff then expect that. Learn to walk down to town and get taxi back. Drink plenty of fluids all day long- its hot. There are taxis always coming up and down the hill. The resort itself is not al the modern fancy new conviences but if you are looking for the old Spanish style decor- its there. The rooms are clean-yes you have to keep food and spills off counter due to ants but this happens anywhere. I have really only one negative and it was the beds- They are hard- i mean really hard so we took some cushions from the pool area and placed under sheets and it really helped. We really liked this area and have checked out the larger glamoreous resorts and by far would come back to Villa Loma Linda. We also have a contact person who drove us around all week and helped with getting us groceries etc if interested let me know

This is a low-key place to stay and is definitely not a "resort'. We loved staying here for the sheer convenience of location and the amazing view of the Bay of Bandaras. There is no air conditioning, but none is needed when we have stayed (6 times) since each room has a multiple speed ceiling fan and the location on the hillside usually has some nice cooling breezes. The units are huge in floor space, but not fancy. You definitely know you are in Mexico and that is precisely why we stay here consistently. We can walk to the beach in about 5 minutes and the restaurants and shopping in this part of Puerto Vallarta are the best! There never seems to be staff turnover and we are welcomed each year as if we are family. I recommend you try this spot for a relaxing and low-key getaway. It is pretty vertical so those with limited mobility or small children might be better served elsewhere due all the steps and levels to negotiate. Regarding theft---there has never been a problem in all our years, but think about it. Do you leave your doors and windows open at home when you are gone or sleeping? Probably not. Common sense is always in style!

Room Tip: There are 3 buildings and "C" building has some hot tubs on the verandas. Road noise in...

I started not to write this, but now I must. We love this place so much that we bought a condo here! So I have to preface my comments with that. I call BS on all the comments about locking up your valuables in the chest of drawers, etc. Hello! If we were in the States and someone entered our bedroom at night when the gates were locked they would not be alive to tell about it...but, somehow, our friends seem to think that telling us to lock our valuables up is the answer. We want to feel SAFE from the idiots who come on the property and rob and steal!!! Oh yes, we now have a Security Guard. Thank you! That should have been done years ago. Telling us to lock our valuables in locked drawers only shows your unwillingness to take responsibility for the thefts. It was not OUR fault...but YOURS!

We are embarking on our 4th trip to Loma Linda over 2011 winter holidays. We have always stayed in June the trips before. This will be different, I think!
I love the people who work there...so kind, so helpful, never disappointing.
I love the pools and the newly constructed pool "upstairs"...
If you want ultra convenience and luxury, you would be best to choose elsewhere. If you don't mind walking and going up/down stairs and no television, it's fine! Close enough to walk to everything you need if you are fit and willing. I LOVE coming home from vacation feeling like I am in better shape than when I left!

Room Tip: Try to get one with a balcony and grill/jacuzzi.
