We booked what we thought would be a great ocean front hotel where we would hear the waves 24/7. However in reality it is nothing more than a party hotel attached to a beach club that plays loud music. Saturday it blasted in our room from early afternoon. We went out and bought ear plugs but they did little to reduce the basey bump bump bump bump in our room. On Sunday all we could hear was thump thump thump. Today more thumping. Can’t hear the music itself just this basey thumping. It is also a hotel under construction and the jackhammering is off the charts. We won’t be back again.

We purchased two weeks of time share at Almar in 2017 and decided to wait a year or two to return since there was construction going on back then. When we booked our January weeks, we called and asked about construction. We were assured that there was little going on, just a small renovation over the lobby, nothing that would affect us in our room.

What a surprise to arrive to a full on construction site. Every day since we have been here (except Sunday) there has been a huge backhoe, a compressor of some sort and a massive drilling device that are in operation from around 11 am until dinner. The machines blow blue smoke and fumes into the air on on up to our room and balcony. The jackhammering just pounds through the walls. In addition there is a constant drum beat that just goes on and on. There is no melody to it, it just sounds like a 4 year old got a drum set and sits banging on it for hours on end. Not sure what the idea is behind this but it does not add anything of value to the residents staying at Almar.

We approached the front desk about the fumes and noise and were told that there was nothing they could do to move us or compensate us. They went on to tell us about how wonderful it will be in a year or two, same story we got three years ago.
What a huge disappointment! Why not just be honest when we called rather than lying.

There are many nice things about this hotel, but they are drowned out by the ongoing construction, the loud constant thumping (I can’t call it music) and the nickel and diming that take place. We have paid dearly for our room and resent being charged for every little thing we use in our room like coffee pods.

I would encourage anyone thinking of staying here to shop around to avoid a huge disappointment.

I understand that some people come here to party, and that is their choice, but to assume every single guest wants and needs to have music blasted at them till sunset every day is just misinformed. They need to figure out a way to separate the party down below from the “luxury” suites above.

The construction going on below is unacceptable and no establishment that labels themselves as luxury would subject their guests to the noxious fumes and noise on a daily basis.

Yes, then fawn all over you when you arrive and call you friend. Make a complaint and they pretend they’ve never seen you before.

Take my advice and find somewhere else to stay until they finish the building.

So many really good things about the hotel. Wonderful location for the beach and reasonable walk albeit on cobblestones for the most part to restaurants and clubs. Large sized room with ocean view and good sized balcony. Comfortable beds. Only downside is when we left Mantamar we don’t want to hear the club beat in our room til we go out for dinner. Can’t really hear the music just this base thump of the club beat. It’s really annoying. For that reason we would stay elsewhere when we return.

We come to PV often. We love to stay at different hotels. This hotel is under construction and the dirt and noise is in your face. The Top Sky Bar is expensive. They charge extra daily service fee. The music is terribly loud. Dirt? Anywhere is better.

Non stop club beat from Almar’s beach club most days. Very loud all day yesterday and today. Trying to sit on the balcony is useless as you can’t hear the waves, only late at night. This is not a luxury hotel when it’s own beach club pounds guest rooms with loud thumping music. On top of that issue is the ongoing construction. Today is Sunday so no construction noise just thump thump thump from the beach club. Far too expensive a hotel for such egregious behavior. We would not book here again!
