“Wow! Honeymoon suite!”
Reviewed December 7, 2010

I chose this place largely due to the ratings on this site, and I wasn't disappointed at all! Over all the trip was great, and it was because this hotel is outstanding!

When we arrived, we were greeted with complimentary drinks and massages. The butler (who would take care of anything we needed) took us up to the room. We reserved a honeymoon suite (though it wasn't our honeymoon).

*** note to readers GET THE HONEYMOON SUITE!!

We had a great view and possibly the best hot tub I have ever experienced out on the patio. We had them deliver champagne and fill the hot tub every night. We ate at the restaurants for lunches and dinner and were happy with them. And we ate at the taco places around the area, they were good too.

The food was good, and you can go next door to the other hotel if you get bored. The main Malecon Puerto Vallarta strip is a few minutes walk down the street.

Bottom line: Great hotel, Great service, Good location, good food, AMAZING ROOMS! And BTW FREE WIFI everywhere!!!

My husband and I just got back from a week at Villa Premiere, our first experience in a boutique hotel in Mexico. We loved it! The service could not have been better, enjoyed the complimentary yoga on the beach every day (with music 2 days), loved breakfast so much had it each day at Villa, wonderful Thanksgiving meal pool side with terrific live entertainment plus pool side everyday was great with periodic treats by the staff. The location is great as the Malecon is only about a 5 minute walk. Enjoyed meals at Barcelona Tapas, El Allende, Hacendia San Angel is spectacular. The conceirge made reservations for us which was great. Will be back!

The hotel has made some changes that have made it even better. We loved the place when we stayed there in February. We were pleasantly surprised by some changes the hotel has made on this stay. They have added ocean front dining a couple of nights a week, and more live entertainment.
On our first night we dined at an ocean front table, dinner was prepared at our table, a jazz band was playing, and the sky was full of fireworks.
The same friendly staff were there to keep us pampered. The food is extraordinary, and the chef is happy to prepare meals that are not on the menu. The location, close to the Malecon is great. All rooms are ocean front. The manager is hands-on, and regularly checks with guests to make sure they are happy.
We are already planning our next trip back.

reviews to select what we did I thought I should give something back.

Tip
After passing the red light green light customs check you will walk into a tunnel filled with timeshare people they will try to trick you into thinking all sorts of things. WALK right past them at the other side there will be car rental boths, taxi stands, and if your on a packaged vaction there will be a guy holding up your companies sign and he have your firts and last name writen on his list.

Review
The premiere is a very nice, no children resort. The staff is great and you will see the same people over and over as there are only 80 something rooms in the entire resort. All of the meals are ala carte and you can order anything from any menu or anything they have in the resort. For example you can make your own breakfast of fruit, bacon, and a hamburger. The room service is very good and takes about 20 minutes, agian you can get pretty much anyting you want (depending on time of day they go to a limited kitchen in the very early morning/late night).

Pools and beach

Beach is not very nice, this time of year the water is cold and there is no reason to go in it. In fact other then putting a toe in we never used the beach.
The pools are perfect for adults. One has a swim up bar and the other main pool is good for quick dunk when you get too hot. All of the chairs around the pool are loungers with thick cushions. Also they have two suspended beds by the pool. On the beach they have 4 hamocks and 4 beds with sun shades. Lots of people will try to sell you stuff (including drugs) if your down on the beach, but we never found them pushy.
Alot of homosexuals stay at this resort (around 15-20% of total guest). The staff seem to treat everyone the same and don't openely have any issues with it. My wife and I found all of the guests to be very freindly and enjoyed the time away from our son.

As for staying here agian I would but I would not go all inclusive. The area around the hotel is very safe and the old city and melecon is only a few blocks away. Not that the food at the resort was bad in anyway but PV has so many great restaurants. As well when you go on an all day trip your not eating or drinking in the resort.

Setting: Hotel is right in town yet private and quiet with beautiful ocean and sunset views. they have beds with matters and snow white sheets and curtains on the beach - you can watch the ocean a few feet away and take in the breez; this I had never seen; a true luxury.

Food: Hotel breakfasts were great., extensive menue and tasty. It served as lunch as well. We had one dinner at the hotel on the Mexican night and it was excellent. The Mexican night was actually very classy with low key authentic performers, good tequila tasting, and quiet dinner on the beach.

Service in this hotel is superb: Unpretentious, professional, and friendly. the breakfast crew became like family. Carla gave me the best massage I have ever had. Alessandro (manager) and his team unobtrusively cater to your every wish. One example: I simply asked where I could get one of the little vases they had on their dining tables (I never saw them in town) and he sent people out looking for them and after 6 nurseries and 5 days he had it for me as we were leaving.

This was our first stay at the Villa Premiere but our 9th trip to Mexico. We have stayed in 4 and 5 star resorts in Cabo San Lucas and the Mayan Riviera along with vacations to Hawaii and the Dominican Republic.

I can say that the VP ranks among the best for service. This hotel is on the small side with under 100 rooms which helps to provide an more intimate experience. All the staff go out of their way to meet your needs. It was common to here staff reply to any special request "at the Villa Premiere everything is possible".

The food was very good and in cases where we felt like something that was not on the menu the staff were happy to meet our requests, and in many cases surpassed them.

While the beach is and ocean in Puerto Vallarta do not compare in my opinion with the Hawaii or the Mayan Riviera, the pool made up for this and it was not an issue.

The location is ideal, being a short walk from the bars and food in town. The views from all rooms provide full ocean front with spectacular sunsets.

This was our 12th wedding anniversary and the hotel upgraded us to a fantastic Spa Suite room, very large and well appointed. We enjoyed the adult only atmosphere and the spa oriented details like cooling towels around the pool, room service as part of the all-inclusive package, and premium liquors (Grey Goose and Don Julio).

I can honestly say I have never been treated as family in the way I was at this hotel and the dedication of the team here makes this a very special place to stay.

Great if: you want a recharging low key attentive sun vacation. Not so great if: you want pool action, crazy games, and a big party scene. Note, you do have access to this at their sister property next door.

Great job VP team on making our vacation very relaxing and memorable!

Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Villa Premier.

We've been to a number of Mexican beaches, and we don't really enjoy staying at the large, all inclusive, mega hotels that seem to be on offer. We also detest the 3-hour 'hard sell' to spend $20,000 to buy a time share in a hotel chain that you tend to get at these sorts of places .
Villas Premier has none of the annoying aspects of the large resorts you get on Mexican beaches, but all of the characteristics of a charming and comfortable beach resort.
On arrival, we were greeted with a 5 min shoulder massage and a glass of champagne. The rooms were beautiful and room service was attentive. The hotel has one average size pool with a pool bar, which suited our needs perfectly. All rooms have a fantastic view of the sea. The best part of the hotel was waking up in the morning, making our way down to a restaurant by the pool (with the beach about 5m away) and having breakfast with a view every morning. The waiters knew my name, knew where i was from, after two days they knew the way i liked my coffee and omelette. Attention to detail was greatly appreciated.

We often spent some time reading on the private hammochs and li-lo's on the beach. Another pleasant surprise was the small surcharge for a couple of our friends to come and spend the day in our hotel with us (US$30 per person for the day). Larger hotels have charged US$100, which i believe is a rip-off.

The hotel is a little more expensive than some of the others we looked at, but we didn't mind paying a little more for the attentive service and quiet atmosphere.

The hotel is located a few blocks to the south of the Malecon (read: main strip of Puerto Vallarta), but backs on to the beach. Every day we walked into the old town of Puerto Vallarta which we loved, and spent time exploring the locat restaurants and bars.

What we loved about Vallarta is that there is a lot to see in and around the town if you feel like taking some time off from the main tourist drive and relaxing by the sea. The botanical gardens to the north of the town are well worth the trip.

Villas Premier provided us with the perfect loaction to experience Vallarta the way we wanted to. We would definitely go back.
