Had a really great 4 night stay at Villa Premiere. As others have mentioned its a great experience to walk in and get champagne, a cold towel, and a chair massage when you are checking in. Had to wait a few minutes to go up to our room. We had a Premiere King that booked via Orbitz (got a great deal). Room was beautiful, large, and had a bathroom with jacuzzi tub and large shower. Small balcony but with a great view of the ocean. The grounds are also lovely with a large pool and smaller pool with bar and great "beds" on the beach. The beach is a little rocky right down at the waterline but otherwise was great. Staff was uniformly responsive and helpful. We booked a snorkel trip to the Marietas and the guy who does that was also great. They are basically just selling Vallarta Adventures trips but they had good reviews here and the trip was great. We got a package that included breakfast which was nice as we did not have to worry about what we were going to do for that meal and the food was good with plenty of options. We ate at the restaurant one night and it was fine but I would not recommend going all inclusive as there are way to many great places to eat in PV.

My wife and I also got massages at the spa which were great.

One thing I would say about the location. If you are interested in exploring and experiencing PV it is great. El Centro and the Zona Romatica are walkable and a 50 peso cab ride. The surrounding neighborhood is not beautiful so if you want to just hide inside the gates of a resort and not see Mexico this may not be the place for you. For us it was perfect. We would definitely go back.

We had an exceptional stay at the Villa Premiere. First of all, if they mail us back my girlfriends left behind glasses, i'll give them 5 stars!! Like any touristy Mexican airport get the hell outside asap! Everyone inside is a timeshare salesperson no matter what they tell you, go outside and you'll see the real taxi or transports. The hotel was a short 15 ride through town and upon arrival a virgin cocktail and a mini massage. No alcohol served any where on July 1st on voting day, FYI. The massage is great but really a tease, which is a great ploy by the hotel. We saved some $$ and got massages from a woman on the beach and it was great, probably second best massage ever. Check in was a breeze and we even got to order custom pillows and custom scents for the room. The room was clean and nice, everything worked, wifi was pretty good, and the view was great on the 6th floor. The pool and bar were very nice and clean, waiters were awesome and service was fast. The restaurants were decent, above average for an all inclusive and the 24hr room service was great. The resort didn't seem very busy but the restaurant service was very slow, even at breakfast. Service was however excellent at the restaurants and throughout the entire hotel. The resort was mainly couples and pretty quiet, not much music or activities but great for relaxing. Do yourself a favor and go next door to there sister resort, its included in the all inclusive. Much needed breakfast buffet, steak house and sushi which were all excellent. Villa Premiere is close to many of the the touristy things like the boardwalk, romantic district, tours, bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. Lots of timeshare people everywhere of course, but never harassed at the resort. We did a dune buggy tour that was cool, went scuba diving with Chico's Dive shop, rented quads from Cool rentals, went to the zoo and pet baby tigers, and ate out at El Set, all of which I would recommend, unless your an animal activist, don't go to the zoo. Not a party hotel so don't expect that, next door was a little livelier and bars were open later. Overall great trip, I would recommend Puerto Vallarta and the Villa Premiere.

We have made 6 trips to PV over the past 15 years, staying everywhere from Nuevo Vallarta to Malecon, the Marriott, Fiesta Americana and others. Without question, the Villa Premiere was our absolute favorite hotel.

From the second we stepped on the property, we were treated like royalty. We are Diamond members of Hilton, so we are accustomed to outstanding customer service. However, Hilton doesn't have a property in PV. But the customer service at Villa Premiere was just as good -- if not better -- than that at some of the best Hiltons in the world. The rooms were wonderful -- very clean, and the aromatherapy and special pillows were a wonderful touch. You receive a nice 5-minute massage when you check in, which helps to relax you from the plane trip.

Unlike many other beach resorts, the Villa Premiere had numerous beach beds, but they did not charge extra for them. They were first-come/first-serve, and they were wonderful. It was great to lay out with my husband all day and be shaded in comfort. The staff was great about bringing food and drinks, and the prices were extremely reasonable (we don't do all-inclusive). We sat at both the pool and on the beach. The vendors did come by on the beach, but they were respectful. The music played at the pool was nice, jazz-type music that never got too loud. The property next door was very loud, but it didn't detract from the ambiance of the Villa Premiere.

It also was very nice to not have small children at this resort. We have kids (16 and 20), and we've been to resorts with children. There is a time and place for it. It was nice to go someplace where people acted like adults, and getting smashed wasn't the entire point of being there. It also was nice to not have screaming kids running at the pool or in the halls late at night.

Additionally, the location of this hotel was perfect. It was close enough to downtown that you could walk to the market or the boardwalk, but far enough away from the street noise. The beach is very nice and private, as well. Without question, this will be where we stay whenever we return to PV.

Room Tip: When we made our reservation, we specified that we wanted a quiet room on a high floor with a King bed and away from anyone in a large party or with noisy people. We also asked to be away from the elevators and stairs. We got room 2509. It was perfect.

After reading all the great reviews on this site, we booked the Master Suite (supposed to be the best room in the house, right?) for our 6-year wedding anniversary. Let me preface this review by saying, the saving grace of our trip was the general manager Fernando. Alas, it was a case of too little, too late. Also, everyone in the restaurant/bar areas were wonderful, the two times we dined there.

So, here goes....and warning, this is a long review.

Check-in is at 3:00pm. We arrive around 4pm. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne and a 5-minute chair massage, and I'm thinking, fabulous! We go to check-in and are told that if we want to, we could leave a CC on file if we planned on charging anything to the room but that it was completely optional since we could pay as we go if we preferred. Since I had booked this room online for 2 grand and had already input ALL my CC info prior, it was my understanding that the room was paid for. We opted not to leave our CC on file because the last time we were in Mexico, our CC number was stolen from another 4-star resort.

We were told to wait a couple of minutes and we would be escorted up to our room. This lasted an hour in the humid, open-air lobby. We asked if we could go up to our room 3 different times and were told just a few minutes. If the front desk staff had informed us that it was going to be an hour, we could've gone to the bar or something instead of being stuck in the lobby just waiting. They should have just been up front and let us know the room was not ready. While we are waiting, the man from the "info" desk keeps telling us to talk to him for a minute. We told him we would AFTER we got settled in. BTW, the initial "info" desk person is a timeshare salesman- just so you know.

FINALLY, we get up to our room and the "butler" brings up our bags. We aren't there two minutes when the phone rings. It's the man from the "info" desk, reminding us for the fifth time to come and talk to him. Again, I told him we would when we were ready. Meanwhile, the room door opens (no knock, no notice) and housekeeping just waltzes in without a word to put something in the bathroom. What if I was changing??? This happened ANOTHER time we had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on our door, someone from the staff ignored the sign and walked right into our room. Your room is NOT secure from hotel staff, beware. Note, the do not disturb sign was inserted directly into the key slot so someone had to look at it, consciously take it out, and enter our room!

**An insert is that the actual REAL person who books tours, Eric was fantastic. He was thorough in his explanations of the options and booked our tours for us. He was so friendly and kind, it was the highlight of our dreadful experience there. Thank you Eric!

But here begins the laundry list of everything that was wrong with our room:
1. the in-room safe does not work. no lights, no nothing. It took the butler and the maintenance worker to figure out that it was completely dead. They had to replace the entire safe.
2. The shower door does not close because it is not sitting properly on its hinges. This had to be fixed.
3. Shower head is spraying water sideways and all over the place. This had to be completely replaced.
4. The outside jacuzzi (balcony) was filthy.
5. One of the lamps next to the bed was out. This had to be replaced.
6. The tv screen went out completely. They had to replace the entire tv.
7. We were given notice (on an all-inclusive package) that there was a national alcohol ban on June 30th and July 1st due to the elections. This would have been nice to know at check-in and not at 11pm the night before with a note slid under our door.
8. Lightning shorted out the wifi in the entire resort and there was no time estimate on when this would be corrected.

Now, I'm a pretty reasonable person but all of this happened in less than 2 days of staying here. We went to speak to the front desk about all this and find out if they just decided to give us a room under construction or something. I explained to the front desk staff that this was NOT normal and not acceptable, especially when we booked a Master Suite for $400 US per night! The response was, well, we fixed it didn't we? No apologies, no empathy, just attitude. It is at THIS moment, they tell us that we need to leave our CC so they can charge the room. I thought we had already paid for the room since I booked it through THEIR website online weeks prior to coming. I was trying to explain that this was unclear and ask why they had stated it was optional when we checked in? The front desk clerk Monica's response? "This is why you didn't leave your credit card because you don't want to pay." Is this woman serious? I then explained to her we are MORE than happy to pay for what we used and our room costs but would not do so without speaking to the general manager first.'' Btw, did I mention that this was on the ACTUAL day of our wedding anniversary? My husband and I were extremely upset at the lack of service, downright rude and crass behavior of the staff, and poor accommodations. After Monica continued to make comments and give us attitude, she proceed to tell US that we should stop having an attitude. No one ever apologized, only made excuses and reacted extremely defensively. They were approached nicely by us at first but as you can see, there's only so much BS I can tolerate before I get upset as well.

And to the gentleman at the counter who decided, without knowing the facts to jump in to tell my husband to relax, please refrain from giving your unsolicited opinion on matters where you are not privy to the facts. I'd like to see you shell out over $400 per night and be given a room where everything is broken, and then get treated as though you were inconveniencing the staff by asking them to fix things that should already have been working and checked prior to our arrival.

About 20 minutes later, I was in tears and already packed. Fernando called and met us in the room. He was extremely apologetic and very gracious. He was also incredulous at what had happened and his front desk staff. It was already 4pm by this point and he asked us to give them another chance, offered a couples massage and a private dinner on the beach for our anniversary on the house. However, it was too little too late. It's not about getting things for free. It's about being treated as a guest on your property. The front desk staff have a lot to learn about customer service. Despite Fernando's promises of improvement and generally kind demeanor, we will never be returning to this property. We ended up packing up and moving hotels on the day of our wedding anniversary.

The only saving grace was that we ended up at the St. Regis and the rest of our vacation was wonderful.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a detailed review. I do apologize for any inconvenience you might have experienced during your stay with us, I have already shared your comments regarding housekeeping with our Housekeeping Manager and we are ensuring that all our team members received the required amount of training in order to meet our high standards and exceed our guests’ expectations.

As our FrontDesk staff explained to you, the room are clean and ready at 3,00 pm, the Vip ammenities such as the pillow & Aromatheraphy can not be done before your check in (that the moment when you choose from our menu) and that was the reason of the delay, in any casewe did give you a complementary massage. Unfortunately all our efforts were not enought for your expectations and we sorry. We will ensure that every little detail will be taken care of in order to anticipate every possible desire of our guests, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to make you future stay exceptionally relaxing and above all the expectations.
