“Great day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

We took the Vallarta Adventures tour to the islands and had an amazing day. Service on the boat was first class - the crew always made sure you had a drink (from the open bar!), the food was pretty good, the crew provided entertainment, and the sights during the day were amazing.

The snorkelling was okay - lots of fish and even jelly fish to see, but it wasnt the best i have ever seen. What really made it was the rest of the day. We saw literally hundreds of dolphin swimming with the boat, the islands themselves are stunning, but obviously the best part of the trip was seeing the whales. Lots of whales !! On the way back we watched in awe as we saw around 8 different whales breaching close to the boat. Just an amazing sight. If you take this trip only to see the whales, then it is worth it for that alone!!

“Vallarta Adventures Eco Tour to Las Marietas - Thumbs Up!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

This was a wonderful multi-faceted trip - great boat cruise (large boat, food, drinks and lavatory on board) with music - even entertainment by the staff! We stopped to admire about a half-dozen humpback whales along the way to Las Marietas. At the island, where we saw many blue-footed boobies, we snorkeled through a cave opening to a lovely private beach. We learned the WWII history of the island. Some tried the sea kayaks that were available as well. We had lunch on the boat and were able to get some fabulous professional photos of the whole adventure. The staff were skilled, and extremely personable. They were also very competent with judgment and first aid when, during the swim, a couple of people encountered jelly fish and were stung. We were shepherded back to the boat without any fanfare, only learning after all were safely on board that the waters were not hospitable for us with the jelly fish about (though out-of-season for them). The two who were stung (my 23-year-old son being one of them) received first aid and accident report documents. We learned that they even had oxygen on board if needed, though it wasn't. I felt very secure in the hand of these lovely, professional guides.

“Vallarta Adventures Very hectic”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

First of all Vallarta Adventures crams too many people on a huge boat and aren't able to provide good service. We saw whales which was fantastic when you could peek through the crowd to see them. Went snorkeling in rough water with no instructions--not for the inexperienced. They don't even tell you how to use the mask--again, too many people to deal with. The breakfast provided was really bad consisting of stale pastry and juice, but the lunch was fabulous. Going out to the Marietas by motor boat was fun but once there the water was so rough I got knocked over many times and it was more a survival test than enjoyment. However, the islands and surrounding water are beautiful. When going to the islands from the big boat and they tell you not to take anything you don't want to lose--believe them. If you want to whale watch and snorkel, recommend booking a smaller boat.

“Marietas Islands Snorkel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

ok tour BUT...hard ride out--boat slapping on the water and jarring your body for an hour out and an hour back. charged us another dollar at the marina for something that the tour sheet said was included. snorkel was good. area was pretty but not really something spectacular...maybe we were there at the wrong part of the year? I wouldn't recommend this tour to my people...however, the tour guide was very nice to us and patient with our lack of experience in snorkeling. Had good sandwiches on the ride back. no bathroom on the boat like stated in the tour description. big mixup on pickup location and had to pay taxi to take us there and they dropped us off--supposed to be closer to our hotel but we walked for over an hour in heat to get back to the hotel.
