This review should have been written back when we visited in October 2012, but as they say better late than never. My wife and I were picked up by boat in Boca and a quick little ride took us to paradise. We met up with Alphonso and his trusted companion Wilson. A few cold special concoctions prepared by Alphonso and paradise became perfect. The smoked marlin tostadas were something to die for.

After a little lunch, we took a little walk down to the beach with our new friend Wilson to take a dip in the water. We had a great time playing around in the water with wilson and then headed back up to the restaurant for a couple more drinks.

Looking for a great experience that you can remember for a life time, spend an afternoon with Alphonso and the gang at the Ocean Grill.

We have it penciled in for every one of our visits to PV.

We've dined here twice and were completely blown away the first time by the view, the hike to the restaurant and the beach nearby. It's truly a sight to behold and there is really no place like this anywhere in this region.

The food has always been consistently delicious. But this last time, we had a couple of problems.

Firstly, it appeared as if the owner/manger was doing all of the work, playing host/waiter/chef/bartender/cashier. It was admirable to see him wear so many hats, but because it seemed like he was running around and doing everything, the energy we felt was very rushed and wasn't relaxing. There were other waiters there, but they seemed very inexperienced. A shame really. Hopefully they just had an off day (or maybe some of the help called in sick, etc).

Secondly, upon departure, we had to stand on this rickety wooden platform that bobbed about in the water because of the wake caused by passing boats. It made for an uneasy, even scary, coda to our dining experience. I know that the restaurant is growing very fast (they are currently expanding the dining room and the rest of the establishment) but the makeshift 'dock' was downright unpleasant. We're in pretty good shape and even we felt uneasy standing precariously on the dock.

The first time we were there felt like we had stumbled upon something great and magical. The second time there felt very hurried and disappointing. Taking nothing away from the food, drinks and experience of arriving, it's too bad that the service (or lack thereof) affected the ambiance.

Very memorable place with great food, view...its a whole experience from the boat ride to the meal , ambiance, swim on the nearby beach and the hike back to Boca. Wilson is adorable, and "well mannered" and, yes, you kind of have to love animals to enjoy the place... We absolutely did! Did I mention the meal was great as well as margaritas?)

We hiked this morning from Boca to Ocean Grill. We did not have a reservation but we were famished from the hike, so decided to take our chances. Boy, were we glad we did! The owner was very accommodating and welcomed us warmly, setting up a table right at the edge, with an amazing view. We had the mint margaritas, which are unique and delicious (contains some ginger, too), Baby Back Ribs and Caesar Salad, and Key Lime Pie for dessert. The ribs were very notable for their tenderness and the sauce they use. This was another excellent meal for us. We ate here last February, but got a reservation several weeks ahead of time. That is a must in high season because the owner stated that many people are turned away during that time because they don't have reservations. We will definitely be back here in November!
