We took our 2 young children for 2 weeks to VV and were happy. The rooms were clean and the staff were all very nice. We got a room on the lobby floor and do not reccomend it if you have a choice. The golds gym is right below and at 6 am the music starts which is fine when alll you hear is the bass but there are some mornings when whoever is teaching the class turns the music up way too loud and it sounds like it is right in your room. That was my only complaint and the pool is really cold. But it is quiet and clean and if you want a warmer pool you can go over to the CDS side. The serving staff were especially nice, and we were happy to only have breakfast included as it meant we were out eating at taco stands the rest of the time

Stayed here for 1 week from Jan 6 - 13th.

We are a couple so our activities would differ from that of a family but the hotel is good. As an all inclusive package you can use the Canto del Sol across the laneway. 3 a la carte resturants, snack bar, 1 a la carte breakfast and a buffet for all meals.

Great staff, clean property and great location. Well left the property to meet up with friends/family half of the trip and the bus stop is right there. there is a little mall for shopping if you dont want to venture far, there is basically everything very close to what you might need or want inclusing several massage places for $25 for 75 mins. ( gotta like that )

We'll definately return. Please not it's not the Hyatt Regency or the Hilton but everything is clean and have what you need. Food is good here too.

|Enjoy your vacation!!!

Room Tip: Staying on the Villas side gave you the option to get a room with a kitchenette (perfect if you want...

We caught a last minute deal and found ourselves at Villas Vallarta sister hotel to Canto Del Sol. Loved it all. We have always done the condo route but could not pass up this deal so we tried all inclusive at a 31/2 star resort for a change. Researching your destination is the key to any great vacation and we listened to the advise from previous reviews. We stayed at the VV side which was much quieter than the CDS resort which has all the action. Upgraded to a room over looking the pool and had a bar mostly to ourselves. My dw loved the fact that we could go over to CDS then return to the peacefullness of VV. Our room had a small kitchenette but the fridge was a great feature to have in a room. The kingsize beds were soft by Mexican standards . Toilets worked and water was hot. Balconey for a smoker to relax on and a beer drinker to enjoy from as well. The staff where very good. We would tip the maid 50 pesos everyday, the bartender 20 pesos for 2 drinks, breakfast 40 pesos, lunch if we ate on site was 50 pesos and supper at the al a carte 100 pesos plus 50 for the spanish coffee display. This would be about the same if a person was eating outside the resort so we stuck to that formula and no one seemed disturbed but very grateful. Next year we will book 2 weeks to this resort. People that have gone to Cancun and did 5 star mentioned this resort does not have 24 hour food and beveridge service however most found it great value for the pacific side of the country. Sure you don't get bottled water in your room but it is available. Great value, great location (close to the Malecon), good food, wonderful staff, nightly entertainment was good too.

We leave to go back to V V in 3 more weeks and am looking forward to it. This will be our 3rd trip there. The staff are NOT rude they go out of there way to make your stay fun and that you are welcome. I still email with one of the staff and one of the girls in the office. I love staying at the V V and having the quiet pool area to lounge and sun in. We also love walking across the court yard to the Conto for our other meals they have great places and the Mexican one is our favourite. When we go we go for 2 weeks and have a wonderful time. It's also what you make of your time. If you go with an attitude that you should be served first and are superior to everyone please don't wonder why people treat you badly. Remember you are in their country and even your own countrymen don't like your rudeness. Last year when we were there, I got really sick and they were wonderful and called the hospital for us, and not only did the Dr. come to see me but two of them came to care for me!! The prescriptions they gave me took care of me until we came home and I saw my surgeon and had surgery. The people in this hotel are fantastic!! When you walk the courtyard behind the Villas there are little shops and an icecream shop you can sit and enjoy and can see all the little things they sell. You can go downtown to the Malacon and see more sites and shops it's great!! There is a little place called the Cafe Roma down there YOU JUST HAVE TO GO IN FOR A DRINK OR LUNCH. He is a Canadian and has the best place you have to see it.
Again don't listen to the people that put things down all the time. Go enjoy and have fun. The people and the hotel are Great.

Pictures on the web site are absolutly not the real rooms. Rooms are of an old durty pink. But at least they're clean.
This hotel is actually not waterfront, we have to cross the street in order to get to the next hotel (Canto del Sol), which is by the beach. Which is to say a 100 meters large beach, with freezing water and Pacific waves.
The buffets is not so big, only a few tables. It was disappointing. The service sometimes was fantastic, but at other times it was pretty awful. When we got 5 minutes late to our restaurant reservation last night, the waiter seemed real mad and made us wait 10 minutes in the entrance, while the restaurant was half empty. That's only one example.
The good points about this hotel is its location in Puerto Vallarta, which is a fabulous little town. Beautiful, with much to do.
Also, we had a little pool in Villas Vallarta, much less crowded than the one at Canto del Sol.

Room Tip: You can ask the front desk to show you the availables room on the next morning, just after check-out...

This property is connected to Canto del Sol by a little ( i mean very little) traffic circle. You walk through the lobby and will immedieately see the ocean. When you arrive, you will get a wristband that allows you access to both facilities. Be sure that you get the right one. If you do not, you will not be allowed to use the other hotel. We had the error, the second time we went, but quickly got the error fixed.
There are several a la carte restaurants on the other side, which you will want to visit. Do take advantage of the offer. The Italian restaurant was the best of the three. We were able to visit all three of the restaurants during our stay
.
Our rooms were sort of a hacienda style - stucco walls with a large bed, separate living room and a small balcony (we could see the ocean from our room). Our bathroom was a 3piece bath and had toilettries provided. Our bedding and linens were refreshed each day.
There is a small pool and bar on the Villas side, which is quiet and a nice place to relax and enjoy a snack or beverage. During spring break, if it coincides with the Mexican spring break, be prepared. Tons of Mexican families stay here. The pool was full of families and children. We only had this experience 1 of the three times we stayed here.

Something neat - there may be bats hanging over your balcony. We spotted them the night we arrived. You will see bat droppings and know if they are there. They are really harmless and spend their day sleeping. Just think of them as a natural insect repellant. When they fly, their wingspan is quite large.

Also, close to transportation links, little markets, some grocery stores, etc. A neat little area. A good 3 stars hotel.

Room Tip: You may want to request a room closer to the reception area or pool. Ours was quite a walk from the...

I ended up at Villas Vallarta buying a Sunquest-Roulette ( http://www.sunquestvacations.ca/Sunquest-Roulette.asp ) all inclusive package trip for two weeks in april. With my buddy, we payed less for 2 weeks, than other guests payed for one week in our hotel. So if you see these Roulette offers on Sunquest Vacation, don't be hesitate to buy, they are selling great stuff for less money. Of course they don't have the best deals in high pick season!
