“Great Nayarit Trip!”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

Luis Téllez of Mexico Encounters is a marvel of planning and of information. My wife and I wanted a custom overnight itinerary that took in Tepic and surrounding areas of the Nayarit region with other stops in between. With the exception of one stop that proved impassable because of three days of torrential rain, this was a very culturally enlightening and rewarding tour... a highlight of our stay in PV where, frankly, if you are not at the pool/beach or Malecon, you don't really have a whole lot to do over an extended stay (we were there for ten days).

Should we return to PV, we would not hesitate to take other day tours with Luis Téllez and Mexico Encounters to the towns and cities that are within two hours of the city... or to his extended tours of the Jalisco state and its cities (Guadalajara and more).

THANK YOU, Luis, for all your great discussion/teaching, friendliness, and organization!

“Fantastic Trip to Tepic”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

My wife and I took a day trip with Louis in late October,2013, to Tepic, the capital of the state of Nayarit. It was a beautiful drive up the coast and then inland through the Sierra Occidental mountains of western Mexico. . All the vegetation was lush from the recent rains. Louis is well versed in Mexican history and has the ability to communicate it in an engaging manner that grabs your attention. He fielded all of our questions on Mexican culture and history. He met our every need and treated us to lunch at a restaurant owned and run by locals. Wonderful food and people. By the end of the trip he was not simply our tour guide, but our friend. The day in Tepic was full of adventure and new experiences. We visited the ruins of Jauja, once a driving force in the economy of the area, a Huichol villiage in the hills, sampled Huichol food, marveled at their art work, visited the beautiful Cathedral, danced on the plaza at evening with locals to a live Mexican band. A wonderful day packed with many delightful memories. We plan to return for a longer tour with Louis.

“Marietas Islands. Diving, snorkeling day trip”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

My friend and I went on Vallarta adventures to the Marietas islands. I did one dive with a really good dive master Julio, then I went to snorkel and see the hidden beach. A fabulous day out and really well run, we played on stand up paddle boards, and kayaks . Had a fabulous lunch and the crew put on a hilarious show on the way back. Definitely a good day out. It was all inclusive.

“Day trip to Sayulita”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

Louis was amazing! He had so much knowledge of Mexico and the areas that we visited. He was very professional and friendly. He picked us up and we went to somewhere just outside of Nuevo Vallarta (can't remember the name) out on a boat and went snorkeling. We visited an amazing secluded island. We went for lunch which was fabulous and included in our price. Lots of fresh seafood. Then we drove to Sayulita and stayed there for a while to lay on the beach and shop around and then he dropped us off back at our resort. I definitely recommend Mexico encounters and I'm looking forward to my next tour this winter.

“Swim with the Dolphins”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

Our 3 yr old grandson, had an encounter with the Dolphin and enjoyed the experience totally. We wished he had more time as he was not fully satisfied and actually cried when he had to come out of the water. Only 20 min was given. He fed fish to the Dolphin and had no fear. We were very excited for him.
