“A must see when in Puerto Vallarta”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

We have been to Nuevo Vallarta several times, but never took the time to go back into the downtown and see Puerto Vallarta. The Malecon is something to see! They have done a great job on the waterfront...lovely walkways, over-the-top clubs, entertainment and cool shops. On our next trip, we will definitely visit here again, but after 7 pm when it really gets active and the acrobats are performing on the poles.

“a shopping must”

Lots of shops and great food. You have to go to the flea market. Stop in for a cold drink and people watch.

“Great place to shop!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

The Malecon is your typical tourist town strip where you will find countless shops and restaurants ready to drain you wallet of a few Pesos. However is fun to walk along the Malecon and enjoy the flavor of PVR. I say be adventurous and wander a few more blocks into town and you will find plenty of places where the locals shop with better prices.

“Boardwalk”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

The boardwalk was nice, I enjoyed seeing the different art work that was displayed. Shopping was average with people trying to get you in to their shops. The sad part is seeing all of the homeless people and having them beg for money.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

The Malecon has a vast array of merchants displaying their wares as well as direcy access to the downtown core. Several blocks from the boardwalk is the church and just a small climb up from there is the homes that Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton used to own. When we were there, they were being totally renovated. The restaurants offer a wide variety of food and drink at more than reasonable rates. The bus service is good as long as you do research first regarding routes and the times. A camera is a must as the sculptures along the Malecon are pleasing to the eye and they do show the talents of the artists. A visit to this area of the city will not be a waste of time! Enjoy!
