“Loved this place!”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Definitely walk the Malecon! Great restaurants, all kinds of shopping, neat nightclubs. Beware of timeshare people. IF they suck you in and you agree to go to a presentation...ask for lots of gifts. Excursions, money(pesos or dollars), tequila, etc. They were giving up to $400 US. Make sure you are paid for your time and annoyance. We went to the Malecon at least 3 times. We loved walking by the ocean, eating lunch and enjoying $1 margaritas!

“Fun to walk and browse”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

It's a great place to meander during the day and enjoy the ocean breeze, but it really comes alive at night. Lots to see and great people watching. Tons of restaurants to choose from. There is even a McDonalds dessert window for a little late ice cream snack.

“Nice walk on the boarwalk!”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

You can have a very peaceful and romantic walk along the boardwalk. There are many stores to get souvenirs from too. Some stores are very aggressive, especially the tequila ones which will yell at you to come in. As good as shopping in the flea market.

“So beautiful but ruined by aggressive merchants and vendors”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

The Malecon is a lovely place at all hours of the day. Sure, there are plenty of cheap and chintzy shops and restaurants, all catering to the clueless tourist mostly, but what ruined it for me was the rudeness and obnoxiosuness of some of the merchants and vendors. One actually grabbed my arm and tried to pull me into his stupid little tequila shop. He's lucky he didn't end up with a bloody face. Tip- try walking closest to the water side of the Malecon, you can avoid many vendors that way. But some near the south end, before you reach Los Muertos beach, will come right up to you and try to get you toi eat in their restaurant or buy their timeshare.

“good shopping”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

The malecon is a good place for tourists to go to experience puerto vallarta. The sand castles that the artists made are very detailed. The shopping was good for touristy souvenirs as well as nice jewelry stores.
