“The New Malecon”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

The improvements to the Malecon are great. The area is now flat and there are no cars. It is much easier to wander the area when you aren't having to watch for the rough sidewalks. The palm trees and sitting areas are great. There is also a walking path closer to the beach.

“Great pedestrian area”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

The newly rebuilt Malecon is such an improvement over the old one. Stores are much more accesible and no worry about being run over while trying to cross the street. try too avoid the area when the cruise ships are in.

“Vendors EVERYWHERE!”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

Be prepared to say NO! Vendors can be persistent. I found this a bit annoying, but I understand they're earning a living. There is much duplication in the shops, so look around before you buy.
