“OMG WOW YES”

Private pool, overlook views, incredibly clean and comfortable place, and the private chef was the best addition. Great for groups, plenty of private and shared space.

“PV Bliss”
Reviewed March 11, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Ending a week of much needed R&R, and fun birthday celebrations. Was upgraded to Casa Hortencias after Casa Louisa was going through some maintenance upgrades. We had family and friends stay with us, six adults and one toddler. This is our third time visiting this area and we continue to fall deeper in love with the Romantic zone of PV. The casa was great, super comfortable, very much a "home away from home," a great walk down to the beach (we did it with a Bob stroller everyday). It's definitely steep, but we like that kind of adventure! PV is an amazing place, the beach, the food, the people... love it. It was great having a heated pool that we played in day and evening. The upstairs deck has great ambiance in the evening, love the lights outside in the tree. We used chef Maria the first night (yum) and had fabulous dinner and leftovers, but ended-up downtown most nights for dinner. What would I change? Maybe just the length of time of our stay! A special shout out and thanks to Jeffery, Sarah and the crew, they took great care of us and put up with my ongoing reservation changes... eeks! Thanks guys, beautiful home.

“Wonderful relaxing home”
Reviewed October 4, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Great private home. Stayed with friends and loved the rooftop pool. Great views. It was a short walk to the beach and downtown.

The maid was very sweet and the whole rental process was very easy. Will go back for sure.

“PV escape”
Reviewed October 1, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This most recent visit was our second and while the house has three bedrooms, it was only my wife and I who stayed. We have been to PV too many times to count and HATE hotels. Casa hortensias is secluded, in a quiet part of the romantic zone. It has a delightful infinity pool with an adjacent palapa patio. An outdoor kitchen and cabana for changing or showering coupled with a terrific view of part of the city and much of banderas bay make casa hortensias our go to place.

Walkable to the beaches and many great restaurants, there is not much more to ask for. The staff are responsive to every need. Jeffrey Hill has numerous rental props in PV and been in this biz a long time. He gets it right.

“Good apartment with outdoor space and pool to spread out. Short walk to town”
Reviewed July 15, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed here for 10 days in July. The apartment was exactly as illustrated. Very well equipped kitchen - lots of appliances and nice that there was enough paper towel, toilet paper etc to last our stay (we did replace some). The three bedrooms worked well for us - two parents, teenage daughter (17) and boyfriend (18). We were al able to spread out enough with the upstairs area with pool. The chaise lounges were very comfy. The A/C worked well (thank goodness) as it was VERY hot and muggy. Pool is smallish, comparable to others in PV, and was exposed to sun all day. We used the grill by the pool to make delicious steak arrachera.

A couple of small items: the apartment is a bit worn in places - a few tiles coming up in the pool. Musty smell coming from sink in 2nd bedroom. Some of the upholstery coming off the dining room chairs and cushions. The ceiling leaked when it rained (3 times). This seems to be a normal thing since there are towels by the area and the ceiling has been well patched (but not enough to stop the leak). It was not a big deal and outside the rainy season you would not notice it. Master Bed was comfortable. I found the light in the MB to be too much at night - light shines through the drapes from outside buildings. I eventually put on eye-shades. The maid showed up regularly was very nice, and was done in 2-3 hours. We saw the mozo (maintenance man) a couple of times at most. One other thing - many decorative items in the house. Almost too many. Every surface has several things on it, which means you need to move the stuff to put down your stuff. Very nice decorating, but less objects on tables would be better.

The house is up at the very top of Calle Hortencias. This means it is a scary drive for non-natives. Our local friend tried to drive up twice but lost her courage and stopped part way! Local taxis- no problem. 50 pesos to nearby town locations on south side of Malecon (boardwalk). I think if you are driving, just have gumption enough to get up those STEEP hills! We did walk DOWN the tire track. This homemade track (with tires embedded to prevent erosion) is very DOWN and steep. (Go out the door, turn left, and it is to the left of the bridge. (Yes that is really the trail down there!) First time a bit scary. My husband is 59 with a knee brace but did it several times. We never did go up, but the teenagers did, panting and sweating all the way. We were always able to grab a taxi easily so had no problem getting back home

Jeffrey Hill and his associates provided very thorough information beforehand. Lots of information in email about local restaurants, neighbors, contact info. Probably the BEST info I have seen in all the rentals we have done (lots).

I looked closely at 3-4 properties in PV and chose this one eventually due to the pool and upper patio. It was further away from the Spanish School my daughter was attending north of the Malecon. However we walked it daily - 34 minutes from the house. It was hot and sweaty in July but the walk is flat and boardwalk very pleasant. We felt very safe the whole time. Great house! Wifi worked fine, and they have good TV access with satellite. We were able to get soccer matches from US. They also had some DVDs and some extra paperback books in Engish which was good.

“A property not cared for”

I visited this property last week and was shocked to see that the place has not been maintained in quite some time. The pool is missing many tile as well as the palapa on the roof. There is a basket in the living room that holds bath mats as the roof is leaking even when it has not rained in months. One of the pieces of furniture in the living room was so thread bare that there was a 10 rip. It looks nothing like the photos on the internet, I would imagine that they were taken years ago. This property is supposedly owned by an interior decorator in town. Shameful at best. I wish I would have taken some photos
