Just back from a week at this property. My only negative comment is that dealing with the front desk staff (at check-in and a couple of other times) could be a bit tedious and slow. But the reality is that contact with this group is minimal, and the rest of the staff are just fantastic. The resort is pretty new, and our room was super clean, well-laid out and comfortable. There was a bit of air conditioning noise from time to time but it didn't interfere with sleep or conversation, so not really a big deal. The food is excellent - and I ate whatever I wanted including salad and didn't get sick. Pools are fantastic and what really makes this resort is the staff. They are so friendly and helpful and remember your name. Armando, Fernando and Jose by the beach and pool are just marvellous, and Salvador and Cesar (activities coordinators) were very high-energy, very friendly and always had a smile on their faces.
One tip - don't change your money at the airport. The rate at the Cambio at PVR was about 9.5 pesos per dollar, and at the hotel they were giving over 12 pesos per dollar.More
