My best friend growing up was Indian, so at an early age I learned to appreciate delicious homemade Indian food. India Gate hits the mark on most every front. Sauces are rich and tasty and everything is spiced very mildly unless you request otherwise The tandoori chicken was well flavoured but a little on the dry side. The butter chicken and curry chicken were melt-in-your-mouth delectable and featured chicken breast to appeal to Canadian and American tastes. The naan bread is perfectly prepared -- ask them not to cut it if you prefer it served whole as I do. The gulab jaman dessert was almost ideal, it just needed a little more sauce. The decor is fresh and modern, a pleasant change from the traditional Mexican style ubiquitous in PV. The staff are friendly and attentive and service is prompt. Sometimes the restaurant features a buffet-only dinner on Sunday evenings, so check ahead, as the quality and flavour of some of the dishes suffer as a result of their being prepared in advance and kept warm.
