“Space, style and peace in paradise”

Audrey, Lee and Chawnalee were the perfect hosts. They immediately made us feel welcome, were there whenever we needed anything but also respected our space and privacy. Audrey kindly got us settled in our room on arrival and left us to enjoy her own special home-made guacamole and cool drinks. We were impressed with Dulce Vida's design and layout - the original architect got it just right. Its eccentric history is echoed in the resulting original artworks displayed throughout the rooms. The sense of style and design throughout all the casas is impeccable with a lovely mix of local culture, crafts and antiques. The rooms remained cool during the heat of the day, especially Casa 2 being partly subterranean, with ample natural light. Views from the rooftop are spectacular and the pool area and gardens make a lovely retreat to sit and relax. Loved the imported Italian red tiles in the pool! Housekeeping staff were non intrusive and did an excellent job. Perfect location, easy walking distance to everything but far enough removed to be quiet away from the tourist crowds. Really, this was one of the highlights of our trip and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, stylish place to stay.

Room Tip: Lee graciously gave us a tour of all the casas. Whilst they were all beautiful, we felt Casa 2 had t...

I stayed there with my girlfriend in March just as the madness of Spring Break was coming to an end. Despite being less than a 5 minute walk from the Malecon, we felt a million miles away from the bright lights and parties booming below once back at the Casa.

The rooms are very spacious with all having access to either private or communal balconies with stunning views over the old town and the bay. Some are over two floors with the bedroom downstairs and living area up.

My girlfriend had injured her leg just before we arrived so was on crutches. Puerto Vallarta is not the best place to be on crutches however the owners did everything possible to help us during our stay. We had considered just stopping there for one night before moving on, however we ended up staying for 4 nights.

I would definitely recommend this family run establishment to anyone.

My family and I have been vacationing here for over 12 years. Chawnalee and the staff are amazing, very professional and always go above and beyond. We have been to mexico numerous times over the years, but we keep coming back to Casa Dulce Vida for the one-of-a-kind experience it offers. The architecture and high ceilings are breathtaking. The rooms are very spacious and have a unique mexican 'feel' (as opposed to a small plain hotel room). The location is right in the heart of downtown so you can stay in and enjoy the mosaic pool and amazing view, or you can step out the front door to explore all the wonderful shops and restaurants PV has to offer. I would definitely recommend staying here. The pricing is very reasonable and the privacy of having only 7 units makes Casa Dulce Vida exclusive, private and very relaxing! !

Beautiful grounds , awesome location, clean ,beautifully decorated Casa and the Warks made us feel like family. I would not stay anywhere else in Puerto Vallarta. Hope to be back again in 2012.

Our 4th stay here after trying another place in downtown area. We'll never stay any other place in PV. Everything that you want is right here: peacefulness, cleanliness, friendliness, proximity to everything important and on and on.
Owners/operators (Lee, Audrey & daughter Chawnalee) are the perfect hosts looking after your every need and very familiar with everything Puerto Vallarta.
We particularly like the proximity to the main plaza and the fact that everything is within walking distance downtown. The fact that we could cook ourselves and not have to be tied to a B&B type schedule of eating is to our liking. We've already signed up for next year!

This inn is a real gem, tucked away in the heart of old town Puerto Vallarta. It's a short walk to Davanna yoga (a MUST for anyone- sunset yoga classes!), the beach, the malecon, and close to many restaurants and art galleries. You feel like you are staying at a friend's house when staying at Casa Dulce Vida. It's an intimate, authentic retreat.

A totally charming spot, family run with care and attention to detail. This casa (historical home turned hotel) is ideally situated, within walking distance to the beach but far enough away that you feel you are in Puerto Vallarta proper and not the tourist zone. The hotel owners make everything easy by providing guests with a binder full of where to eat, visit and go during your stay. Plus they are always available for questions and support. The staff are quiet and respectful. The premises are immaculate, the surroundings beautiful, and everywhere you look is tucked away original art, tile, or unusual decorations. The view from the roof top garden is lovely, especially during sunset. In all, this is a quiet getaway you could happily stay for weeks and still find something new. I highly recommend it.
