“Excellent breakfast!!”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

In our recent stay, we had breakfast there twice. It was that good. Open kitchen by our table was interesting to watch. Eggs with Mexican sausage was very tasty. Potatoes were done to perfection and very tasty. The owner and staff were very friendly.
A little difficult to find, but then we get lost easily in unfamiliar locations. Next time in PV we will try the lunch. Small and cozy with very interesting wall decor.

“Really delicious for breakfast! Traditional and top quality.”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

Very nice decor for a casual breakfast or coffee meeting with friends. Just look at the art and cookbooks on the shelves and you know you are in a place that the owners (not nacionals) are living their passion. My breakfast of Rajas con crema with mushroom onions quesadillas was outstanding! I wasn't even that hungry and this dish was just too perfect not to just pig out. Would be a good dish to share with someone... could even be a delicious appetizer. This is off the beaten track for the usual tourist. Up away from the beach above the romantic zone but a very cool classic Mexican part of town. Less expensive cute 2 star hotels and little casual comida corrida restaurants and some old expat bars. Mi cafe is definitely for expat locals. Pictures of Frank Sinatra and celebrities on the walls and 60's mellow American singers belting out ballads. My friend's scrambled egg breakfast looked perfect. Going to go back to look at the great books and try more dishes. My breakfast was 65 pesos. Coffee was seriously good. So if you are a local this is probably already a favorite breakfast spot away from the beach. Tourist will enjoy the walk up the street and the relaxing great breakfast they will have. If you live in this area... wow what a great handy place.

“Terrific Little Cafe for Breakfast or Lunch”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

I love coming here, and I have have dozens of times: the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable with it's pleasant owner/host, free wifi, and laid back sleek decor. At times I've only come in for coffee, an at other times I've gone full-on chilaquiles or Machaca Con Huevos for breakfast. Whatever my mood one thing's guaranteed: the meal will always - and I mean always, be freshly prepared and delicious. A few days ago I went on for coffee with a friend and was hungry, but not starving, and ordered a fruit and yogurt platter with granola - I was smiling the rest of the day thinking about the delicious combination of Mexican crema and fresh papaya. Breakfast with coffee here will never cost you more than $5.00 to $10.00 depending on your appetite.

“Relaxing and Creative”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

For the past year, we and many of our local amigos have frequented this cafe for breakfasts and lunches. Open kitchen shows chefs making all dishes to order. Try their fantastic burger with pesto, cheddar, bacon, sun-dried tomatoes, all on a bagel! Tuna sandwich, French toast, rajas con crema are a few other top selections. Portions are huge and I find myself taking a portion home. Good fair prices. Aldaberto owns the place and hails from a Vallarta restaurant family. Loyal loving clientele in a slightly hidden locale, up near Emiliano Zapata Mercado.

“Wonderful, relaxing, our favorite food”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

They are only open for breakfast and lunch. It's not like a restaurant where they great you at the door and sit you, they smile and say hello from wherever they are, they may motion you to a table, but it's more like home, where you find your spot and sit. They are sweet and charming, not hustlers. They focus on the best freshest food and piles of it. The salads are amazing, huge, full of all kinds of the best greens and fruits, beerries, nuts, cheese. The sandwiches are the best homemade breads and fabulous, you can watch teh chef pick out little pieces of fat from the meat before it goes in the sandwich, as teh kitch is right in the room where you eat. There's nothing that isn't the best that can be made. It's a Mexican man who lived in the USA for quite a while who owns it, he's dedicated to the restaurant, along with his family who work for him there. Small place, kinda like a New York deli. If you are tired of Mexican food and want to not worry about food sicknesses this is the place. We go all the time as we love everything on the menu, and if you want it but it isn't on the menu ~ ask, they are very accomodating. Oh and great music, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis....
