My husband and I took the untouristed food tour from vallarta eats on monday november 19th.

The experience:

The tour lasted from 10 am till approx. 1:30. It was a walking tour guided by the fabulous Raquel. The tour takes place in the are '5 di Dicembre'... And you definitely do not visit any tourist traps.

The walking is actually very pleasant, helps to digest throughout the day as you visit 7-8 stops.

Each stop is selected bc they have a specialty food to offer.

Our faves were definitely the barbacoa and the seafood soup... But it was all good!

Raquel is a very generous and gifted tour guide - she told us about her life and gave us anecdotes and history about the area as we walked. She brought us frozen towels to cool off at midpoint which was a nice touch!

I highly recommend this tour or any tour with Vallarta Eats.

Every taco was delicious! Come hungry. There are 6-8 tacos to try along with agua frescos, ice cream and candies. Birria is fantastic. Best ceviche taco and best quesadilla any of us have every eaten. Manuel was a wonderful tour guide. He kept the pace easy, filled us with great food, interesting info about the area and even brought frozen wash cloths to use toward the end of the tour. Pace yourself. It is a lot of food to try and it is all worth trying. We will go again if we visit PV. Thanks Manuel. We all had a great time. My son and girlfriend went back into PV two days later and visited a couple of the same places.

Great tour. Our guide Raquel was fantastic. She looked out for us all day with restroom stops which I need frequently. She was knowledgeable and really a lot of fun. All the 8 taco we had from the different places were great. I would highly recommend the tour. Try to get Raquel she is fantastic!

We've been on a number of food tours and most have been excellent. Vallarta Eats signature Taco Tour with Raquel was among the very best tours we've ever had. Raquel was friendly, informative, attentive and just fun to be with for the day. It was great that she was from the area and knew a lot about the history of the food and the vendors and their families. The food was awesome and varied and the flavored waters were great accompaniments. The best part was that none of the taco stands were places that we ever would have found or visited and yet they were all excellent and had their own charm and character. Overall, a strong recommendation! A great tour.

Wonderful! Totally fun and full of interesting information. The food was fantastic. We never would have gone to any of these places on our own. Vallarta Eats is one of the best tour companies anywhere. This was our third tour and we are going on another one later this week. Can’t wait!

What an amazing day with our guide Daniella. We visited several different taco stands downtown. These were the best tacos we ever consumed. The taco stands were authentic each with its one family recipes, flavors and spices. These tacos were a must. I admit I was nervous taking this tour as i have a very sensitive stomach.Much to my surprise no issues digesting. The taco stands were all clean and safe. We visited a tortilla factory which was interesting.
We also visited a bakery and candy shop which was super fun. This is a great adventure that I would recommend to all.
