“Tthe food we had was average”

I ordered Tamal Oaxaqueño con Pollo y Mole Rojo Picoso. I was soon informed that dish was out. I ordered Enchiladas Con Pollo y Mole Tojo Picoso instead. The chicken filling was dry. The mole had great flavor but was too picante for most. Spicy is OK with me but I still prefer my mole in the typical non-spicy style. Accompanying rice and beans were good. The guacamole was excellent. A requested grilled jalapeno was perfectly cooked. My partner's giant chicken quesadilla was expertly cooked to a crisp then made soggy by the juice from the ranch-style beans spilled on the plate prior to serving. We were there about 9:45 pm on a Thursday. They closed about 1/2 hour before their posted 11 pm closing time. There were several tables of Mexicans present which is a good sign. I loved the authentic atmosphere. The restaurant was close to where we stayed. I might return because it is convenient but would not seek this place out if further away unless more attention is paid to the food.

Sorry to hear that your perferctly prepared quesadilla was spoiled by a some of the bean juice spilling on the plate. We try to be perfect and please all of our customers and appreciate your comments. We would have been happy to take care of the problem within 2 minutes if you had only said something. I was also sorry to se that you ordered a spicy mole dish but thought it was too spicy. We cater mostly to local Mexicans and when we say spicy we mean spicy and by the way our mole has been rated as one of the best in the city. We take Trip Advisor very seriously and in all honesty I think your having ordering something spicy when you don't like it too spicy is a little unfair. But if you return and want that again and just ask us we can try and tone it down for you. Thanks again...

“Awesome restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

We were going to dine elsewhere, but when we talked with this other couple, they turned us on to this one. The place is like a sports bar and the service is very accommodating. We had six at our table. All the orders came out on time and were delicious. I had the BBQ Pork Spareribs, 1 lb, which also come in 2 pounds. The ribs were tasty and the meat just fell off the bone. Don't remember what ever one else had, but they were not disappointed in their dinners.
Well be back in 2013 and this will definitely be one stop we are likely to make.

“Good reasonably priced restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Very pleasant decor, good servers in local dress, good food and reasonably priced. The owner takes great pride in making everyone happy. You really get the feel of a Mexican restaurant. I was there for breakfast this Sunday morning. They serve a good breakfast for 49 pesos (that's under $4.00). An added treat this morning was a female Mariachi band. They said they were auditioning. I hope he hires them as it only adds to the ambience here. If you like ribs, they are very good and reasonable.
