“Delicious authentic Mexican food with a view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014

This restaurant is on the third floor of a building that overlooks the ocean, mid way down the boardwalk. The food is as amazing and authentic as the view is. Relatively cheap price and good service. Best guacamole I have ever had!

“Great view and Great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

We were walking down the boardwalk trying to avoid the constant request for us to attend a time share when Roberto stopped us on the street to see if we were interested in dining. He took us upstairs and gave us a table by overlooking the water and street below. Very fresh seafood prepared excellently. We had Cerviche- which was wonderful. Highly recommend this place over others on the boardwalk. Friendly staff, cold drinks and great food awaits.

“Third-floor Dining Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

Viejo Vallarta is along the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta, on the third floor, and open to the elements. Which makes it a more authentic dining experience in Mexico, in my opinion. Roberto hailed my friend and me as we walked along the Malecon looking for a restaurant for an early dinner. He showed us VV's menu and told us he'd make sure we also got guacamole. Up those stairs we went, then seating ourselves at a table overlooking the sea, the Malecon, and the busy street below. Roberto introduced our waiter and left us in his good hands. My friend and I both had a delicious meat dish (when the menu says "batter egg," it means "scrambled") and thoroughly enjoyed the roasted tomato salsa (roasting the tomatoes makes a world of difference in the flavor of the salsa), chips, fresh flour tortillas, and our gift of guacamole. Holy guacamole, was that ever good guacamole! The menu is quite varied, something for everyone's taste buds. The prices are good. It offered a very relaxed atmosphere. There was something more authentic about VV, giving more of a sense of really eating in real Mexico. It was relaxing, tasty, and the breezes were most welcome.

“Great meal at a great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2014

My wife and I loved the food, service, and location of Viejo Vallarta. The town is a great place to visit, shop, and eat. We highly recommend this restaurant if you want a great meal with a great view of the street and ocean.
