This hotel is in a great location with lots of amenities around. The rooms were beautiful very spacious we had a great view of the ocean. Beach and lots of shopping within a few steps of the hotel. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.

The hotel and facilities are just beautiful! The rooms fabulous and the view was out of this world. The staff was superb! From the moment when they first greet you to the everyday "good morning" greeting they couldn't be any nicer. Special mention to the concierge group, can't remember each of their names, all were super but Jose's help was top notch. Then the folks at the Cielito Lindo also made a great impression, Enrique and the main hostess made sure to make us feel special. And last but not least special mention to Raul at the pool bar, we love Raul as we have known him since the old days at a Mismaloya beach restaurant.

Room tip: Top floors of course

Wonderful staff, breakfast buffet, and facilities. A quiet resort with many places to enjoy your day. Great location just out of the busy town with expansive views of the Pacific. A 10 out of 5 stars.
Special thanks to my new friend Alexis Garcia the concierge who was very attentive to our stay.

Room tip: All rooms have a great view but highest floors are more expansive.

I've read many of the reviews, so I feel compelled to provide my opinion on this resort :-) There is truth to all reviews both good and bad.

We just returned from a spring break trip to the GM with our kids who are 16, 14 and 12. We had a wonderful time.

The overall vibe of the hotel is very quiet. Not much going on from sun up to sun down. If you like that, this is the place for you! If you are seeking a party, go elsewhere.

The view and setting is absolutely spectacular!

Location:
It is a $3.00 cab ride to the melcon and all downtown PV has to over. The majority of the ride is up a cobble stone street with many twists and turns. It is NOT in the middle of no where - you just can't walk to a Starbucks and its NOT located on the water. It is probably to closest luxury resort to town. You just can't walk to anything.

Rooms:
It's true that not all rooms are equivalent at the GM. We saw 4 rooms before we were satisfied. I was told the 2 and 3 bedroom units tend to be in the older building at lower floors with less spectacular views, so keep this in mind. In the end, we had a huge beautiful room. Amenities were nice, beds were comfortable, and the linens were top of the line.

Spa:
Absolutely lovely and a great price for resort services. Rosa Maria is a wonderful massage therapist.

Pool:
The pool is small but nice. The furniture around the pool is gorgeous and is in perfect condition. There were plenty of chairs, both sun and shade. The pool is very quiet, a reflection of the resort. My one issue is that kids are only allowed in select pools on the main deck. They are not allowed in the swim up bar or the hot tub. My recommendation is to allow kids to enjoy all ammenities on the main deck and keep the sky pool for adults only.

Sky Deck:
Absolutely spectacular views. Very quiet. Food was great. Great Service!

Buffet:
The breakfast buffet is adequate: hot food, good fruit, great coffee, pastries, yogurt, fresh squeezed juice. There was no omlette station which I missed having.

Overall, this is a wonderful place for the price - a great value. We stayed at the Four Seasons in Punta Mita and it is NOT that but it's also significantly cheaper. The GM has a 4 diamond rating which is right on. If you want a Four Seasons / Ritz like experience, this is not the place for you If you are seeking a high quality (4.5 star) beautiful resort to relax, enjoy great views and have a suite, this is a great choice.
