My husband and I decided to go on this trip even though we were alittle nervous about the size of the boat. It was a small 32 foot dingy with padded stools for seats. We had an Austrailian marine biologist who led the tour along with two locals. It was such a fun trip, we saw so many whales and even a jumping whale! Being in the small boat allowed us to get to the entire bay very quickly so we could stay close to the groups of whales. Then as an added bonus we saw over 200 spotted dolphines swimming around us!

We had the best time ever whale watching with this company. So informative and fun to listen to. The equipment is well maintained and you feel very safe. I highly recommend everyone to enjoy this adventure. You are guaranteed to see whales and we must have seen at least 20. Some close and others at a distance. We even saw some dolphines. They drop a microphone in the water and you can hear the whales communicating to each other. Spectacular!

This was a fabulous adventure!! We signed up for the 1/2 day adventure and it was just the right amount of time. I was a little nervous about the boat we went out in but all was well. Pedro was very knowledgeable on the humpback whale as well as many different dolphins. Paco was a great captain. We were very close to whales, had great photo ops and was well worth the money.

My husband and I were so looking forward to this, and we were not disappointed. Our tour guide Nicky was fun and informative. This is definitely a must do activity when you are in Puerto Vallarta!

Educational, fun, interesting, amazing....to be up close to these creatures is breathtaking. Nicky our guide was great. Both funny and informative...the guides are marine biologists and really know the ecosystem. The crew observes the laws and guidelines of the International Whaling Commission so the are legit. They respect the animals. They also communicate with all of the other vessels that Vallarta Adventures employs (other tours and excursions in the bay, etc...) AND they have a light aircraft flying over the bay to spot whales. So even though a good sighting is not a guarantee, it is probable that you will either see A) a mother with her baby and possibly a male escort whale (sometimes the mother is teaching her calf how to breach so thats cool), B) a group of males and one female of whose affections they are competing for or C) a crazy lone male making noise by lying on his back flapping his tail or best case scenario - breaching. We got to see all three scenarios the morning we went out! (Nicky, if you're reading this I hope you're impressed. We were not a particularly lively group but we were paying attention!

This is one of the best places to whale watch in the world as a huge colony comes here every Jan-Feb to breed. Go in the morning and DO NOT MISS OUT on this experience!!!
