We have visited the Friendly for the last 7 years and will keep going back. We have been to other inclusives and nothing comapares to the great staff at the Friendly. The beach is awesome and you never need to get up to get yourself a drink, or even lunch if you don't want to. They come around in the afternoon with cold clothes for your face and an afternoon snack. In the evening at the bar, Dahliah and Maria never let your glass go empty. The view from the main tower is abtsolutely beautiful.

I loved everything about this hotel. It's not to big, its in a great location (mid way between the airport and the town), the staff are long serving so you see the same faces each time. From the first time I stayed here in 1995 (when it was The Qualton Club) I fell in love with the place. It's quite a trek from the UK but well worth it. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean, there is a wide variety of food available to accomodate all preferences, the evening entertainment in the theatre is really very well staged by the entertainment team and the view from the beach is heaven. I can't wait until my next stay

Room Tip: My prefernce is to stay in the main building on the highest floor available in order to get the best...

Service of the staff was exceptional. They were always there to help out. There are 4 restaurants to choose from and we paid for "All Inclusive" package. We didn't have to pay extra for anything including liquor. We were on the 11th floor & the view was wonderful. You could find us in the Infinity Pool where it was calm & you could be served drinks from the side of the pool. My 15 yr old son loved every minute of his stay & being able to eat any hour of the day & night. There was a good variety food, it was very tasty & appitizing. Love the meal time on the beach as well. We heard many good things about the tours offered and will take advantage of them next time we go. The only thing I had trouble with was the firm beds. I'm use to soft matteresses, but this was easly fix with a blow-up matteress pad. Loved house keeping & all the little towle animals they made for us. We will be going back......

Room Tip: If you like quiet time at bed time we advise that a room above the 5th floor.

Just got back last night. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They were the best staff we have ever had. If you are looking for staff to call you "sir" or "ma'am" forget it; if you want staff who give high fives, hugs and fist bumps and will listen to your stories - this is the place for you. If you go - treat them nice; we loved them.

The place is older and needs some upkeep, especially the thatch on the shade huts. Our sink had a crack - it worked just fine. The beds are hard - I have a bad back so I just asked for extra pillows and survived. The food was basic but I ate well every day. The Gourmet, the a la carte, was very good. I wish they had another pool, but we used the infinity pool every day and it is adult only. The entertainment staff were pretty good, they were not as involved with all the customers as other places but we weren't there for that any way.

The beach and ocean area were great. The beach is pretty big so we always had lots of room. It was quieter when we went so we had no troubles getting loungers. The ocean is a bit murky and not a good place for snorkeling. It was great for swimming though. It gets about 4 feet deep pretty quick so I would watch young children very carefully. There was some waves but nothing that would bowl you over. There were lots of vendors but every single one went away when I said, "no gracias". Just ignore them if you aren't into that; however, we have never bought from beach vendors and this time we did A LOT. Marta gives a good one hour massage. We bought amazing wood work items and gorgeous clay skulls.

Oh - not a party place. More a family and couple place. There were a few young, party types who left for the party part of their trips.

Room Tip: The tower was quiet. The walk ups would be pretty loud the closer to the tower as the lobby is the...

We visited the last week of January 2012. It is not a huge resort but more of a hotel with everything you need. It takes only minutes to go from the beach to your room.... providing the elevator stops at your floor! They kind of have a mind of their own, but that's part of the adventure of Mexico!

The rooms and common areas were very clean although the sides of the pool could have used a bit of a scrubbing. By that I mean if you stood in the pool the front of your bathing suit might get dirty from the edge. This is likely from all of the sunscreen and probably also due to the oil used in the best massage I have ever had In my life! I probably should have showered before returning to the pool. So partly my own negligence. We spent hours in the pool where they served us drinks and even took lunch orders and served it to me on the pool edge! Awesome servers! No pool bar but with their service you don't need it!

The food is fresher and tastier than most of the 5 star resorts I have stayed at! The selection isn't as large and the main dining area is more like a cafeteria setup than a dining room but it was great just the same.

The location and views were excellent and it is on an awesome strip of beach! We stayed high in the tower and could see everything including whales and I think what were dolphins! You can take a cab anywhere for 5$ or jump on a bus even cheaper. We even walked to the malecon along the beach. There were some tough spots but I would do it again.

Some of the small but awesome things were cool face cloths handed out by the pool, handmade icy cones and blended fruit with or without alcohol made by the pool, mini donuts also made by the pool, BBQ Mahi Mahi on the beach for afternoon snack, and all sorts of other treats throughout the week!

We are going again at the end of January 2013 and are bringing a group of 14 friends with us this time! I can't wait to play volleyball in the pool at 2:00 everyday!

We did go off the resort and explore on our own everyday. There are a ton of excellent restaurants and things to do. The people and sights in pv are my favorite! We have been twice to pv and once to Friendly. All total on 7 winter vacations in 5 years all over the carribean and this is one of my favorite places. We have stayed at three 5 star resorts a couple of four star and three and a half stars. The service, weather, location, people and things to do at friendly in pv are by far my favorite so far!

Bring a small alarm clock for the room, no coffee maker in the room, but I tipped the maitre d in the restaurant and ha gave me a carafe that I used all week. My favorite thing on holidays is sitting on the balcony drinking coffee with my beautiful wife watching the sun come up and seeing the employees work their tail off to prepare to give you the best day they can. Remember to tip these people well, they earn it and for the price you pay to stay here, you can afford to be generous. We usually spend about 200.00 to 300.00 a week tipping on and off the resort. Still it ends up cheaper than staying at nearby resorts!

Keep yourself open to try new things, respect everybody, be gracious, and don't sweat the small stuff. Who cares if there is a broken tile somewhere!

See u at the end of January!
