This is our first visit to Hotel Mercurio, although we are here with friends who have been here several years in a row. The staff is attentive and consistent through the years. With close proximity to the beaches, restaurants, and attractions, this is a must-stay for for gay and gay-friendly travelers.

They take great pride in keeping the property well-cared for and make themselves available for assistance when asked. From then front desk, to the bar, to the housekeeping staff, they work hard to make your stay memorable. Pricing is super reasonable and there is no driving (or hiking!) down and up the hill for each venture into town...you are already in town. The property is off the main road, so out the door and a half-block over, anything you need is close at hand. Give it a try...you'll come back!

PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES. One thing is that gay people like fun and quite another that they like to live like pigs, but this hotel seems not to have heard. Cobwebs in the rooms, organic remains in the savannas, the corners filled with dirt, the bathroom had not seen the bleach for years. The hotel is very old, in the forties, and has not been renovated at all. The walls full of moisture and many, many, many bugs of various species. All very messy. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES. At night better not leave the bar or the pool if you want to see Mickey Mouse relatives checking size horse breakfast the next day. There are better hotels like the Abbey, very good quality and cheaper. A scam.

Room Tip: NEVER AGAIN

The hotel is located right in the Zona Romantica and close to night clubs and right in the gay area. The reviews are correct most of the guest are older men. There were only 3 rooms with young people and we had 2 of those rooms. The staff was great especially JOEY.. HE ROCKS!!!!!!! They are very helpful and kind. The breakfast is GREAT!! Overall I will stay at Mercurios again....

Believe the reviews...Great location at a great price..Breakfast each morning was excellent, fresh fruit, and 2 hot dishes..usually eggs and a mexican breakfast dish..Age range was all over when we were there,20's to 60's...nice mix and VERY friendly..Front desk and staff were EXCELLENT!!!!!! Spent the extra money for a King room, big and comfortable, with fridge and sink...Now wasnt the Hilton by any means, but clean and comfortable and close to EVERYTHING!!Happy Hour was great with 100 peso beers and 2 for 1 margaritas. Bathroom was small and a little tired...but you go to PV to be outside and enjoying the weather and beauty of PV!!! AND THE BEACHES!!!!
We will stay there again!!!!

Room Tip: IF 2 people, spring for king room!!!

Be sure your room is off the main pool area. Anywhere near it and it will be constant noise and distraction.
Most of the front desk staff was awesome! Very friendly and helpful in any way they could be.
The location is very close to the beach and all the gay nightclubs as well as the Centro District.
Breakfast was good, rooms are not fancy but they are comfortable and a great price.
We would stay there at this price again.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms that are higher up and off the pool
