“Lido Beach Club: Excellent food, classy”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

Although listed as part of the "gay" beach, the Lido will be (and is) perfectly comfortable for str8 people. Compared to Blue Chairs and Green Chairs to the south, the food here is just excellent in quality, presentation and value as befits a place run by the folks who own the upscale Trattoria Michel in town. The servers are friendly, attentive and accomodating, the washrooms exceptionally clean, the beach chairs of a high standard. The location has a steeper sea front allowing it to withstand high tides and surf that inundate other beach establishments. The music (when there is any) is pleasant and conversation-possible as opposed to the internal-organs-vibrating volume further south. Highly recommended.

“Lovely beach in Puerto Vallarta”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Visiting Puerto Vallarta from Europe during the cold winter months is a great treat to anyone who delights in a warm tropical climate. Right in the heart of the old town is the lively beach Playa Los Muertos, where you will find plenty of lidos to choose from, You will be able to also enjoy good food that is not overpriced. You must not miss the beautiful sunsets, which are an added bonus at the end of each day, as the night begins.

“This is a crazy beach - always something happening here!”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

At the same time it is a tiring place to hang out if you are over 20. There are more street vendors and annoying time share hawkers per square foot on this local than anyplace else in PVR. And if you're not particularly fold on having rainbow flags and rainbow people around you all the time... go north.

“Congestion Squared”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

Los Muertos is THE beach which straddles both sides of the Los Muertos Pier. It is a relatively shallow beach as beaches go, which ultimately forces a large number of people into a relatively small amount of space. Impose upon this a fair number of restaurant dedicated umbrellas plus a large number of vendors. It is not my idea of a fun time. My concern is that this is the experience many visitors will take away and allow it to define their "Mexican experience." It should not be. There are endless miles of uncrowded beaches in the Vallarta area. Ask a cab driver, they'll know.
