My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. Our budget was on the small side, but we got a great deal to stay here for 5 days. The rooms were somewhat basic considering how extravagant the grounds and rest of the hotel are. But we had an amazing view of the ocean, and frequently enjoyed eating on the patio. We ended up delaying our departure as our flight was overbooked and so we stayed at another all-inclusive resort down the way. At that resort, the walls were paper thin. So we appreciated more how quiet our room was at the Marriott.

We were always concerned about the water in Mexico, so we bought lots of water bottles. That was a little annoying, but if you do this I recommend going to a local grocery store and stocking up as the hotel prices were very high (as usual). The hotel isn't that close to many restaurants, so we were constantly eating at their high-priced eateries. They were good, but we didn't expect to spend so much on food.

I would recommend going on one of the excursions that the hotel offers - definitely worth the price.

My wife, daughter & I come and stay every year or so to Puerto Vallarta and always stay at the CasaMagna property. We get a room facing the pool with a view of the city as at night the view lights up. They have a choice of 2 queens or a king and a pull out couch. The rooms on the other side are great, but at night the view is into darkness.

The breakfast buffet is a must and is offered for free on many packages through the hotel or your travel agent. At times we have been offered an upgrade to a suite by the hotel upon arrival for much less than booked online.

The property is very nice and well maintained and includes 5 restaurants. There is a forever pool with an island in the middle equipped with a swim up bar. Plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas and full service at the pool.

The location is walking distance to the old marina where their are a few restaurants to frequent (we suggest Victor's) and ESSO convenience stores to get beer and tequila for a lot less than on property. Fishing boats are ready to take you out for day trips to the Marietta Islands (we suggest Mike's) and there is a professional golf course adjacent to the marina.

Room Tip: Get a city/pool facing view and the higher and the closer to the water the better. You can ask for a extra mini fridge to use as not to disturb the beverage mini bar.

This property is starting to get jaded - looks old and the furniture is antiquated.

The wireless internet never functioned well for the whole of our three night stay despite repeated calls to engineering and docomo.

We liked the Mikado restaurant, the other restaurants were average.

Pretty disappointed overall.

Room Tip: Ocean view

I checked in for a 4-day conference and was pleasantly surprised with the hotel's infrastructure, maintenance and service. The room was nice for a larger hotel but I was surprised there was no bottled water. The quality of the buffet was very nice although they were serving 300 people at a time. I would have enjoyed music by the pool area. Above all, their service set them apart from other larger establishments. I felt that the staff clearly understood that their guests come first!

Loved the infinity pool and pool bar, my room, the deli and service.
While there I had a medical emergency and the staff was amazing! Wouldn’t want to be stuck anywhere else, they were very efficient and professional, you could tell the staff was well trained and really cared! Nothing beats good customer service ok - ok and drinks at the infinity pool too ;) Highly recommend it - superior service and great facilities.
