“Or Downtown as we know it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

You will need several days to take this all in! Shops, restaurants some have entertainment during th day. A walk to the Malecon, where there are more shops , restaurants and entertainment. The big market is downtown. Streets are a bit uneven, so watch your footing - many broken ankles happen here! You will see vendors scrubbing sidewalks, so it is very clean.

“Fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

It's a good place to hang out and start to wind down for the return trip home. While it's not necessarily a "sight", it's worth a visit and to spend time shopping there.

we prefer mixing & mingling with the locals. Colourful, charming. Lots of cobblestone, so wear comfy shoes & watch where you are walking

“Friendly people”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

When I was pushing my wife in a wheelchair in downtown Puerto Vallarta, the traffic was pretty busy. It was hard to cross the street at times when there was not a traffic light. Twice a taxi driver pulled his cab into the center of the road and blocked traffic so we could cross. Nobody honked at him. Everyone seemed ok with out inconveniencing them so we would be safe. At other times police men and women did the same. Can you imagine that happening in NYC or any of our large cities?

“Interesting streets to saunter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

A very interesting area to just meander through. Lots of interesting shops and restaurants and a real local flavor that doesn't feel touristy.

Go to the Old Town Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9:30am-2pm (November thru ??) for a great selection of artisan food, handmade crafts, jewelry and clothing in a lively street setting. There is a large selection of products made, grown and sold by vendors who live within 50 km of PV and many unique and wonderful gift items can only be found here.

They are located on Pino Suarez between B. Badillio and F. Carranza.
