We attended at Las Caletas for our daughter's wedding on February 21, 2013. Unbelievable! My daughter, the bridesmaids and the 2 moms went to Las Caletas in the morning and enjoyed the spa and the surroundings for the morning. Then it was time to start getting ready.

My son-in-law, the groomsmen, the 2 flower girls and the dads arrived around 3 pm for some pictures as a group - the sun sets shortly after the ceremony so it can be tricky to get pictures taken after the ceremony.

The guests arrived (we had 70 people attend) around 5:30 pm and they were seated on the private beach for the ceremony. My wife and I walked our daughter down the aisle and the ceremony commenced. A highlight of the ceremony is a parrot flying down the rings to the Minister!

After the ceremony, some pictures, mingling, drinks and appetizers before dinner around 7 pm. the food was outstanding. The dance started around 8:30 pm and they had fire dancers come around 9:20 pm. We lit sky lanterns around 11 pm and boarded the boat back around 11:30.

The day was perfect. Many guests described the wedding as being in a movie. I told my other 2 daughters that they would also have to have their wedding here as I could not imagine anything better than we experienced. Blanca was our wedding planner and she had everything organized and on schedule. It was better than any of us imagined.

We were looking for an easy tour that we could take our two young children on. The boat ride was easy, the crew was super entertaining! The kids were impressed with the show they provided on the way home. The food for lunch was pretty good. My son was thrilled to see the monkey.
We went with Vallarta Adventures-

You ride a boat to the site and if you sit out front you get very very very wet. Was cold and wet when we arrived - no one told us we needed wet suits - but the program was amazing -- we left PV at 6 and didn't get back home until 1 am - not for people with wheelchairs or walking disabilities very steep climbing and its quite a walk.

We decided to take the Las Caletas tour because it offered something for everyone. The trip on the boat was about an hour and there are several things pointed out along the way. The staff does a great job of entertaining the people on board. You are offered some fruit, pastries and coffee/juice upon check in and then get offered this same service on route to the island. Once you reach the island there is a light food offerering of a taco you make yourself, then you take in as little or as much as you'd like. I did find the day slightly rushed, we didn't get a chance to take in all options. We did register our son for the kids adventure and he loved it, an encounter with ducks and monkeys and then a donkey ride up the side of the hill. Then they tell the parents to go back down and wait. From the photos we purchased it looked like our son had an awesome time, the do rock climbing and then rapel down a mountain side, then the cross a suspension bridge and get the opportunity for a couple of ziplines. Our son said he loved it and wanted to do it again.....this did take about an hour of time, so by the time it was done, we headed to the beach and took part in kayaking and paddle boarding. My husband and son did the nature walk and by the time they got back, we were one of the last to enjoy the buffet, it was lacking nothing, ribs, rice dishes, fish, chicken, fresh bread and tacos and desserts to die for. All the while during all beach and restaurant events, there was free flowing drinks offered up by friendly happy servers, they were very quick at service and keeping your drink full. After lunch, we did go for a quick walk to the parrots and macaw, but it was time to head back to the boat for the return trip. On the return trip, the staff are just as entertaining and offer up full beverage service of alcohol and kid friendly drinks.... We were lucky enough to spot a whale in the distance frolicking with it's baby, the captain slowed right down and gave us a chance to watch them for a few minutes before we continued on our way back.

It was a great day and a way to incorporate a bunch of activities in one day, I am not sure we would do it again, there are a lot of other tours to see and do...but it was well worth the trip for our first excursion. A word of advice, we purchased our tour through Vallarta Tours and Activities, the price was 30% less then the advertised price the Vallarta Adventures site, so we found this quite a savings. The tour is still handled by Vallarta Adventures, but the third party operator offers a better deal maybe because they buy bulk seats for the tours.
