The craggy and ancient roads and uneven sidewalks makes this world and street side a place for stamina and well being while strolling on the avenue that is olas altas. It begins on the north side jutting down from a park where the sound of joyous children comes echoing out of the school that frames the point on the northeast side. Many shops begin as you leave the crowned park abutt the school on the northern edge. The malecon widens greatly at this point where Altas begins and it becomes vendor after vendor north of the traversed street.
So heading south from the point of the school you pass on the east a most populated basillo badillo street where all things can be had. Brilliant chocolates and homemade high end ice cream at xocodiva and its sister store lix are a near corner must and new this year.
Along olas Altas you see the famous Los arcos beachside family resort and then there are laundrys, tequila shops and street side bars and restaurants that rival New York bars in their offings. Many retail and souvenir shops also line the streets but it is the happy hour that shines until dark from noon that makes this a destination.
Don't miss the many side street pubs and crawls around the corner from this enchanted world. Favorites include that are on or around the strip are, not in any order but a necessary embark are samas, anonimos, apaches, hot fridas, and garbos. Beware that the craggy footing will be greatly affected by the libations consumed and put you comfy shoes on before outing.
It doesn't get any funnier than this.

Bars, restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, condos and so much more. This is the best street in town for a stroll or for dinner or entertainment. Grab a chair at a coffee shop, enjoy some dessert or a drink and let the world pass you by. This is my kind of street.

Forget the marina, nuevo, and all the others. You can't say you love Mexico unless you have experienced this. Streets of ethnic restaurants, stores, and out of the way places as pastries, coffee houses, tequilla samples, cambios, outdoor places to eat and jewelry.
The excitement is contagious/ so much to see. And go to the beach places/ where else can you drink a margarita and people watch for hours? Love it!!

Is it Canadian, German, Mexican or American? The answer all of the above and a lot more! It is a fusion seldom seen in such a small area. One street, several blocks long, has all of the above plus, Japanese, Chinese, Italian and health food restaurants. The street is its restaurants and the restaurants make up the street. Come and enjoy the great hospitality but don't overlook the second level they are great restaurants as well.
