As a frequent visitor to PV I knew what to expect from a traditional Mexican hotel.
The hotel is right on Los muertos beach, the close proximity to the beach, many restaurants, pubs/bars, and reasonable walking distance to malecon make this hotel a most primo location. I had a suite room with gorgeous ocean and sunset views. A kitchenette on the balcony which I liked, was basic with a larger fridge, stove and sink...utensils were available from front desk on request.
The room was large with a fairly cozy king size bed ( I had back surgery 1 1/2 years ago and still managed a comfortable sleep)
Bathroom was a Nice size with a glass sliding door in shower, a/c worked well and also had cable tv.
There were 2 computers for use to guests downstairs in lobby, towels for the beach were available at the front desk.
There is a kinda private lounging area with chairs for tanning on the roof and a jacuzzi but it looked like it had been out of service for some time.
Maid service was consistent and front desk people were pretty helpful.
In general this is a basic no frills hotel in a location most would love to have, definitely good value for what you get.

Room Tip: There is no pool or fitness centre

Good hotel, I been there two times and the third is coming up, employees very friendly, great location, the restaurant, excellent food, great customer service, great food, the only issue is the mattress, they really need an upgrade, hope next time I'm there there is more comfortable bed.

Room Tip: I have choose the same room twice, first level facing the malecon, very quiet and good view.

Good hotel for location in the Romantic Zone, right on the beach near the pier. No frills and good value. Basic rooms are spartan and not comfortable with no view, but cheap. Deluxe suites are large with balcony and kitchenette and ocean view. Junior suites are a little larger. I usually go with the deluxe suite with king bed and kitchenette and dining table on the very large terrace overlooking the beach.
Drawback is no pool, but beach is just steps away. Free wifi, but only in the lobby area and two computers to use in the lobby as well. Discount at the restaurant downstairs on the beach, but there are many cheaper options nearby. Just one block up to Olas Atlas and all the restaurants and gay bars. Blue Chairs is four blocks or a walk down the beach.

We loved the hotel the two times we stayed there. Our only complaint was the bed, which had a mattress seemingly made out of concrete. Totally uncomfortable. That said, I would happily stay there again and just use extra blankets to pad the bed.

Room Tip: Face the beach!

We had a "junior suite" with king bed on the 2nd floor (note that the "1st floor" in Mexico is the second story of the building, unlike in the US).
GOOD: The spacious room had a beautiful ocean view from the balcony. The A/C worked reasonably well. Water pressure in the shower was good. There is a refrigerator in the room and a stovetop outside on the balcony with an extra sink. The hotel offers palapas and lounge chairs on the beach, as well as beach towels for the asking at the front desk. There is free wi-fi in the lobby. The hotel is in a prime location, especially if you want to visit Los Muertos Beach (right outside) during the day. La Palapa Restaurant (one of my favorite PV restaurants) is right next door. The rooms are very clean (good maids!).
NOT SO GOOD: The room is sparse, with very inexpensive wooden furniture. There is no safe in the room, so if you have valuables, you have to use a safe deposit box downstairs. The bathroom towels are coarse and you only get two bath towels in your room unless you request more. There is no blanket on the bed - only a sheet. The king bed comes with only 3 pillows. Sometimes, there are bands playing music on the beach, so you cannot take a nap in the afternoon without earplugs. The wi-fi only works in the lobby - it doesn't reach the guest rooms.
BAD: Our toilet tank leaked water on the bathroom floor when we arrived, and we asked to be switched to a different room (which was refused). They did send a maintenance man to try to fix the problem, which seemed to help - a little bit - but the toilet continued to leak for the rest of our 4-night stay. In addition, the shower head was not well-connected to the pipe, so water sprayed out of the connector when we took a shower. The remote controls for the A/C and the TV both stopped working on our last day (we didn't bother trying to get them fixed). The daytime front desk attendant (Ian) was nice and helpful, but the evening front desk attendant barely (if ever) looked up from the computer screen in front of him.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to someone who wants to save some money and be in a prime location, but doesn't expect too much from their room. I did peek into some of the "standard" rooms across the hall - they are MUCH smaller and don't have any view at all (they face the street and their windows look out onto the hallway, so there is no privacy if your curtains are open).

Room Tip: Don't bother with the standard rooms - go for a junior suite at minimum.

Conveniently located oceanfront, walking distance to all restaurants, bars and the Malecon. Clean rooms, housekeeping daily, pleasant front desk staff, very accomodating. Book online, there is no better value (depending of course what season) when you book. Have booked as low as $50 per night. Stay frequently.

Room Tip: All rooms on the 11 line, 211, 311, 411 are great value and position. All have balconies, have ocean...
