I was very pleased with the Hotel, clean room(I had a suite on the second floor). Staff was great and very helpful. Everything is within walking distance(Malecon, shops, tons of bars and resturants). Marina is about 20-25 mins and about $10us taxi cab fare. Overall, very happy with my hotel and my visit to Puerto Vallarta,

Took a chance on a package that included the Eloisa and am going back again. We stay in one of the suites and although there isn't much of a view it's clean, comfortable and 1/2 block from he beach and Malecon. Maid service is great, breakfast on the rooftop every morning included with your stay. It's continental not eggs & bacon, which is just lovely. ( hoping they have improved on the coffee served though ) Really have no complaints. Small pool on the main level, although mostly shaded depending on time of the year. Dipping pool on the rooftop, great place to hang on a lazy day and there is a spectacular view from the rooftop. Instead of complaing about the Zumba classes in the park, join them!

Room Tip: The suites are definitely worth the extra, for extra room and simple meal preperation.

The main advantage of hotel Eloisa is its location in the lively area of Puerto Vallarta near the beach. The area is called Zona Romantica. There are many hotels for tourists, restaurants, shops. At the same time, it is not just a tourist anclave but a part of the old city, where resident people live. Puerto Vallarta downtown is nearby, over the brook. As for the price it was a bit too high for me although still rather reasonable. Breakfast was included in the price. However, it was a basic breakfast - tea / coffee, yogurt and muesli. The tables were right on the roof of the hotel, so atmosphere was awesome. Here, the roof has a small pool, one more, very tiny, at the bottom, just behind the front desk. My room was is simply furnished. Just 2 single beds, wardrobe, shower / toilet with hot water, a table and a picture on the wall. Meager light and rather cold. The latter I think is explained that most of the rooms have windows and doors open onto narrow and tall patio exposed to drafts like in chimney. The hotel is generally clean, our room was cleaned up well every day.

Nice hotel clean not a lot of things to do there except sleep and have breakfast, there is two pools one on the roof and the other on ground floor.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Noisy in the morning because the zumba aerobic class in the park.
AC was not very strong.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep choose a room away from the street, there is zumba class every morning

We just returned from a 2 wk stay there. My sister had an inside room which faces the dark corridor others wrote about. She was very satisfied with her room. We had an outside room which faces the park. Loved it, when we stood outside our door, you could watch the goings on in the park or over at the beach. Only ate 4 breakfasts out of the 14 we could have. Juice, yogurt, granola, one type of cereal, sweet type breads, fresh fruit and coffee. Fantastic view from the roof top where it was served. We loved Dora and Ramon, 2 of the front desk people. We found everyone friendly but one clerk Lilia (?) who never seemed to smile and did not handle a situation properly when some guests next to us chose to smoke outside the non smoking room and the smoke came in our room. Other than that, we are going back again. It is 1/2 block from the beach. We went twice a day to the adjoining coffee place for our americanos and lattes. The room was clean. They accomodating my husband's requests for extra pillows. The maid provided extra towels daily for us. We booked on the internet so the rate was better than the hotel rack rate. Loved the location, close to all the restaurants, bank machine, taxis, buses, etc

Hotel has a great location, close to Ollas Altas beach in the southen part of Puerto Vallarta center. The room we stayed in was very dim and simply furnished. Window was open onto the inner courtyard, also dark and narrow. I am not sure if other rooms have a street view, but, seems, most of them on all five floors do not. Breakfast was simple but served in a roof cafe with a great view over Vallarta.
I don´t think their rack rates are fair. However if booked with other sourse , rates might be worth of money.

We've stayed here several times over the past 6 years or so but are unlikely to do so again. We paid 784 pesos ($60 at current exchange rates) for a regular room with fan and no TV. Bed was typical Mexican rock hard with cheap polyester sheets. The hot water wasn't even tepid (and we are very used to Mexico having lived here for two years and Mexican hot water standards but this was barely warm). Service was somewhere between indifferent and sullen.

We ended up checking out every other budget hotel in the Zona Romantica and ended up at the old standby Hotel Azteca, in a better room than at the Eloisa, with wireless in the room (not available at Eloisa) with better restaurants nearby and a more comfortable bed, for 350 pesos ($27) a night. That buys a lot of tacos - and the folks here actually seem to appreciate the business. Unsurprisingly the Eloisa was almost empty at this, the peak of high season. There are at least a dozen better choices at half the price.

Room Tip: Upper floors probably quieter overall as long as you don't mind the pool pump. Suites are quiete...
