I have been to Puerto Vallarta numerous times and have met people on every trip that have never been out of New Vallarta! I ask them what have you been doing on this trip? If I wanted to stay at the hotel the entire time I would travel in the US!!! Old Vallarta is a wonderful experience from the food to the people. It has more of a Mexico feel than New Vallarta. Plus it has all the wonderful little taco stands that all the locals eat! If you haven't left New Vallarta since you have been there than you are missing out! Get out of the hotel and live a little! Mexico is not dangerous unless you are looking for trouble. Puerto Vallarta is one of the most beautiful places I have travelled to in a long time! Get out and experience the real deal people!

We found Old Town about the 2nd or 3rd time we were in PV and we're really glad we did. There is so much to see & do in Old Town. On our very recent trip to PV, we stayed at the Tropicana in Old Town. Some family members who were staying at one of the resorts near the marina came to visit us. They said they have been in PV many times and had never been in Old Town before. They were really surprised at how much there was to see. If you haven't been to Old Town, you need to check it out on your next trip to PV

it is beautiful to cross the bridge from puerto vallarta into the quaint buildings and the restored locations that are converted homes with gardens, trees and pools. many shops are converted blgs that have the vintage flavor of many years ago. some stone streets are still seen as they are removed. the modernization of the area is maintaining the flavor of many years ago. many pieces of property are still owned by old families. they rent parts of them to various shops and some tenants live on the second floor. these properties sometime are being converted into expensive condos. a must to see and have a meal near the strolling streets.

One if not the main reason I would go back to PV is the old town.
Very quaint, very safe, very clean. Lots to do, and I don't mean just shopping, just looking at the mexican architecture was fun. Would love to stay down here amongst the action next trip.

Went for dinner and a walk. There were so many things to see, you would need more than one night. The water walk full of people and vendors everywhere. We stayed by the marina and took a bus there and a cab back without a problem. Wished we had more time to see more!
