this was the first time I have been to Puerto Vallarta.. I found this place online..its new and so beautiful.. the grounds are immaculate and spectacular.. the pools were awesome..yes it was off season and we had the place almost all to ourself.. we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite because of an upgrade..it was incredible.. this was possibly the most luxurious place i have ever stayed at..I think that once word gets out about this place i wont be able to afford it, but the views were incredible.. yes there is construction going on, but it wasnt bothersome at all..the only thing that wasnt absolutely wonderful was the bed.. it was not as comfortable as i would have expected as all of the other furnishings were top of the line..it was rather hard in my opinion..there were all kinds of nice touches.. candles, beautiful artwork was everywhere and i MUST mention the view!!.. wow.. it was so great waking up every morning to look out from the terrace ....the restaurant was a bit pricey but the food was always presented beautifully and so tasty..we had a package that included breakfast and had dinner there once.. we took bus into town to explore and to eat dinner .. wear good walking shoes if you go downtown.. although i have to say it was sometimes hard to leave paradise..(but it was great to come back to the serenity and the beauty of our temporary home) the staff was helpful and polite..there was no pressure to buy a condo.. so all in all it was such a relaxing 4 days..i rarely ever go back to the same place twice because i really like exploring new places, but i absolutely would return here..when they get the next phase of construcion done and there is a market nearby.. i had no problem with the fact that there was no place in walking distance to by snacks or anything.. we picked up a few things in town and brought them back. but if i was staying for a longer period of time that would be a nice addition..anyway... our recommendation was a very enthusiastic 2 thumbs up!!

First thing being said-service is slow! If you can deal with this--you are ready for an AMAZING trip. We stayed in the one bedroom suite and the penthouse.
It is above and beyond anything you could get for the price. I have stayed at the four seasons penthouse and this topped that!
Open air full sliding glass doors open completely up so you have a 180 view of amazingly clean beach. I will never stay anywhere else if i travel here again

The rooms and pool were exquisite. Service was very good. Food was mediocre and prices higher than anticipated for Mexico. The facility is still new and undergoing construction which would be disturbing if looking for a more relaxing atmosphere. Few people were at the resort at the time of our stay. The pools were the most elaborate I've seen - just beautiful and we enjoyed them despite the construction noise. The views were fantastic. Only one restaurant, and a pool side cafe so dining experience was very limited. I believe it was more an "owners" resort than hotel and spa. I would stay again, although not for more than a few days.

This area is on the edge of the developed area south of PV and typical touristy stuff
15 min cab ride (north) to downtown PV (restaurant and tourist activities)
short cab (south) to Mismaloya and rural/ jungle-ish adventures

I visited right before the start of very hot season so there were not very may guests here. As a result, service was amazing! Rooms were spacious: mine private hot tub, large bath with soaking tub and separate shower, sitting area.

Concierge was very helpful. Fluent in English (she grew up in Idaho) and Spanish. For a short wknd of R&R, I could simply not leave the resort! And that is unusual for me- typically, I am an explorer!

This was perfect for a long wknd (Memorial wnd). Alaska flies direct from SFO, 3hr flight and you are to the beach in Mexico! It does help if you speak (or attempt to speak) Spanish. Much of the PV crowd can be US tourists who do not try to learn the Mexican culture.

The restaurant is one of the best in PV area. There were several Mexican families and locals who dressed quite nicely to dine in the restaurant at GB.

We went there for honeymoon and were upgraded to a fantastic suite with amazing view. The location and facility was excellent except for a lot of construction going on behind the hotel. The staff tried hard and were friendly but were poorly trained and seemed to have no manager. As a result the service was in general pretty poor eg few clean towels left and had to keep calling for more, gym was always shut, restaurant service for breakfast was very slow - had to wait 30 minutes for a coffee one day and we were the only customers there, internet was slow or didn't work. The restaurant was very overpriced and food at best average (with poor choice) better to take a cab up the road to Tony's where you will have fantastic fresh seafood at less than 1/2 of the price. Beds and furnishings were great but pillows hard. Was very clean and well maintained. If they can get a good manager and improve the customer service would be perfect.
