“Great Food, Family Run Mexican”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We walked by looking for a restaurant in mid-town PV, having totally forgotten what a good meal we'd had there two years ago. So, this time we went twice. Super food - as good as you'll get anywhere in PV, especially the care with which they prepare fish and seafood. The owner Melissa is always there - she and her staff are very welcoming and efficient. They make you feel at home, and the prices of course are reasonable. We'll see you again in February, Melissa and Jose

“Nice stop in the center of town”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

We were looking for a nice and clean place in the center of town with easy access while using public transportation. Melissa's was not disappointing. The food was great and I recommend their fajita mixta (chicken, beef and shrimp). The good this about this place is not only the good low cost food is that you can choose your side dishes that include a good portion of Guacamole. This is a good spot to try if you in the centro area and work up an appetite.

“Go where the locals tell you to go and you will not be disappointed!”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

We were in PV for our anniversary, and even though we were staying at one of the best resorts with delicious food, we wanted to venture out for that special night and really go some place off the beaten path that was highly recommended. Well for two days around the pool and resort we asked many locals where they thought we should go and we decided on Melissa's.

I emailed them to ask if there was anything special they could offer us for our occasion, and quickly got a response of what could be done. Cyndy loved the menu selection so we accepted their offer for dinner, which was very reasonable to say the least.

So we feasted on mussels, lobster, shrimp, and mahi mahi plus they baked us a cake and gave us two shots of tequila for around $85! Pleasant atmosphere and wonderful service, we could not have asked for more.

Thank you so much for helping make our anniversary a truly special occasion with some of the best food we ate all week!

“OMG”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

This was by far one of the best meals I have had in ages. Local restaurant, open air, very mexican flair, (nothing fancy) what you would expect from a family run restaurant operated with pride. Wooden tables and chairs. Chips, their version of salsa and a thousand island like dressing served at the table. We had Jumbo (like 6" long) shrimp wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese. AMAZING. Served with rice and chiote and carrots which were cooked al dente. Hubby had Mahi Mahi Rockefeller, covered in spinach and cheese. He is a meat and potatoes guy and said this was the best fish he had ever eaten. If he could have like this he would eat every day. They have Mahi Mahi about 10 different preparations, and friends had two others that they loved too. This is a MUST go to! Margarita's were yum and who can screw up a Grey Goose martini! Approx. 2 blocks up from Malecon.....an extreme surprise to us all! Melissa and her husband and boys took good care of us all. Thank you for a great night.

“Great find in PV!”
Reviewed November 5, 2013 via mobile

We have been to PV numerous times and this is the first time we have been to Melissa's. So glad we found this family run restaurant. Service was excellent and food fresh and well prepared. We started with a shrimp ceviche and guacamole. The ceviche could have been more spicy but shrimp were fresh and plentiful. Guac was great especially with spicy salsa. We split the whole red snapper which was plenty of food for 2. The snapper was fantastic - fried, then grilled to give the skin a crusty texture and very tasty. The fish was like butter in oir mouths. The restaurant is owned by Melissa and her family and they took time to insure we were well taken care of. Prices were reasonable and we had a wonderful dinner with 2 margaritas and 2 cervezas for $40 US. Check out this place close to the Malecon.
