I took this excursion on the recommendation of Vincent, the AirTranst rep that was stationed at the Royal Decameron and am so glad I trusted his advice.
First, there was a nice sized group, only about 25 of us on the boat so you had room to move around and check stuff out.
The crew was super with the main guide, Ricardo keeping us informed and entertained as we took the about 1.5 hr ride over Marietas Islands for our snorkelling adventure.

The snorkelling was so, so as the water was some what murky this time of year( when in the area in Nov it was very clear) but still seen a lot of fish and other sea life like octopus and sea urchins.

Then swimming though the cave/tunnel and on to Lovers beach, very cool.
Ricardo then took us though some of the caves for a bit of exploring.

After a bit more time on the beach it was back in the water for a little more snorkelling before we loaded back on the sail boat for the trip home.

I had a small waterproof Olympus camera that worked well but there was also a photographer on board, Paul, who came along and got lots of shoots of everyone, I bought his CD of our trip for 500 pesos, much better pictures than I got ... LOL.

We returned home under sail, coming across what was thought to be the last remaining mother humpback whale and her calf, the rest had already headed for northern waters.

As we circled near them, the calf came over to check us out, coming with 20 ft, allowing us to get pictures before swimming off with mom.
Also had some dolphins swimming in our wake as we sailed back.

Was a great trip, snacks and lunch were very good as was the cold beer after we were done swimming.
I do want to note, this wasn't a " booze cruise".
Yes there were drinks available but that wasn't the atmosphere, you would feel good about bringing kids along, very family oriented feel.

In fact that is what I felt was the best thing about the trip, it felt like you we're out on a sailing/snorkelling trip with friends ... Relaxed and not on any schedule.

This trip was a lot like our whole vacation to the Royal Decameron resort, just a great time de-winterizing with friends.

Enjoyed a fantastic trip from marina Vallarta to Los Arcos for some snorkelling. It was a 40 foot sail boat and they only took about 20 people so it was more intimate and not a crazy party bot which was great as we have two kids 6 and 9.

Crew was amazing as they took care of everything.
Great snacks and cold beer on the return sail with great views of he city and wild dolphins. Would definitely recommend this charter company to anyone considering sail and snorkel.

We went on the trip on April 2nd. We did not expect to see any whales, we knew we were too late for that but wanted the boat trip and the visit to Yelapa. We got an added surprise bonus of seeing a whale and her baby!! The captain made sure we got a good look and took extra time to follow for awhile and make sure we could see. We also got a great look at several dolphins following our boat. The crew were all wonderful and helpful and friendly,The lunch at the restaurant in Yelapa was good and we got to sail some of the way back which was amazing! It was a great day and a highlight of our trip!!

We saw whale mother and baby, lots of dolphins, and captain made sure we had a good look. We sailed most of the way back. There were delicious snacks provided. We went on a little hike in Yelapa and had lunch. It was all excellent.

This trip was the high light of our vacation. Allen and his crew went out of their way to make our excursion the best we have ever been on. Definitely a 10 out 10 experience. We saw Humpbacks breaching, dolphins, sea turtles, manta ray just to name a few. The food was great along with the company and drinks. Oh ya, can't forget about the Blue footed booby. The sailing was great.
